Hello everybody. I am new to the GTP Forums and GT.

I started playing GT4 a few days ago.
I had actually played it before and I hated it, I decided recently to give it a second chance and I am glad I did. :)

Before I go, is there anything I need to know about GT4 before I lose my life to it?

Hi! Welcome!!!

Things are pretty quiet in the GT4 section these days, since GT5 has been released. But there's still a few of us living in the past(!) so let us know if you've got questions.

Some things off the top of my head
- learn to drive manual transmission and without aids (which also means you'll need to use pedals or the analogue stick for accelerate- the X button just doesn't cut the mustard!). you might be slower at first, but in the long run you'll be a much better driver
- the licence tests are like vegetables: boring but good for you
- smooth = fast
- there is no such thing as the "perfect" tuning settings for a car, it's all personal preference and compromise
- yes, GT4 gets better the more you play it!

Welcome to GTPlanet Muskrat4893!

One thing with the Gran-Turismo series is that it can be addictive.
Try to keep a little bit of live outside of the virtual world.
