I think you may be mistaken here, at least I hope so. My understanding from Nicky's post was that a thread already existed for this discussion & any new (or not so new) thoughts should be posted in that thread.

I would hope threads wouldn't be closed simply because they had already been discussed.

Just my interpretation of course.

I think that he was emplying that threads that get closed for flame wars don't need another thread opened in their place. That is my take on it. I didn't do a search for said topic and see if those threads were closed, I am just guessing by his comment.

If that is the case, then I (personally) think it was an error in judgement.
 
If you have a problem with the moderators actions then send him/her a PM. Starting a whole new thread complaining about things only clutters up the forum and makes you look bad.

Hundereds of threads have 'disucssed' being dissapointed with GT5 or PD, but still they are allowed to remain, it just doesn't make sense!!!

Thats true, a normal, a bit heated discussion about if the saves should be in the game gets closed, but promotion threads for Forza which blame PD for a bad game get left open like it's nothing!

So basically repeat, irritating threads other than your own should be closed?

Before bemoaning the demise of GTP based on the closure of your thread, consider:

1) That was a repeat thread, discussed at considerable length in the past.
2) Rather then levelling a balanced argument, your first post (and title) was flame-bait (labelling people’s opinion that it should be included as ‘pathetic’…great way to start a debate). I would have closed it earlier had I been aware of it.

As for ‘mods ignoring multiple and irritating threads’, if you find examples whilst browsing, use the report button. Using ESP 24/7 is a tiring affair.

I cant understand you don't having a thread locked, but we don't go around doing it randomly. If it was done, it was because it warranted it.

I just felt annoyed at what was (as mentioned) a case of miss-judgement on the mod's part. I never intend for arguments, people just assume a fight all the goddamn time. I feel that exeptions should be made on repeated threads if they go into that much of a discussion, something I have seen many times in the drifing forum.
