TOKYO--Sony Computer Entertainment Japan has announced a disc exchange for customers affected by controller bugs in the " " of Gran Turismo 4, which is currently on sale in Japan. According to the company’s news release, gamers using two models of Logicool steering wheels have experienced two problems: first, the accelerator doesn’t go to 100 percent, and second, after turning, the wheel cannot be returned to center (turning the controller wheel doesn’t affect the onscreen steering). Sony has invited gamers experiencing this problem to mail in their game discs for a replacement. Logicool is the Japanese name for peripheral maker Logitech and the affected products are the GT Force and the GT Force Pro aftermarket steering wheels for the PS2. SCEJ is treating this issue as a software problem, so there is no indication at this point that these wheels will have problems with other games, or that U.S. market Logitech products will be affected. Moreover, SCEJ’s news release confirms that this bug does not affect standard Dual shock controllers. Currently, there are no plans to release Gran Turismo 4: Prologue Edition in North America. The full version of the game is due out in April 2004.

Welcome to GTP, is there a link to where that info came from?

so are u saying that gran turismo 4 is out in japan? Cuz that news seems like its for gran turismo prologue...where they had that bug and recalled the game.

GT4 isn't out in Japan, the recall was for GT4P with the wheel problems.

There isa shread of evidence that it might be fake. It says GT4 release date unknown, then it says full version release Aprill 2004. This is on the Yahoo one.

Well they give you a month... April 2004 but the release DATE is unknown.. get it?... but even though I dont belive any of these sites, and I find it funny how on the motor sport one, one person said it sucks there always delaying the game, well there not delaying the game its the websites that are making up release dates and then changing them, but anyways just wait for an official statement from Sony or PD that says "...this is the release date, xx-xx-xx..." then and only then will I belive the release date, that or until I see it on the store shelf

right people i foned playstation support today asking about a headset wen i was finished with that query i asked the person about if he knows the release date for gt4 and he said ive heard lots of rumours about there being a april release date so could gt4 just be 3 months away ;)

well i pre-oredered the game from eb and it had a release date of january 17(?) 2004. Well that never happened, then it was supposed to be april something or another. Today it is posted at gamespot.com and ebgames.com as being relased on June 30th, 2004.

Thoes release dates were the shops guessing, the dates they have given you now are guesses as well. No one knows for sure outside PD but Sony has said June or July is the target date.

I stated before in a different thread, PSM had an article that GT4 was delayed until Summer. Summer, in North America, is between late June, to late September. It will be a while, people.
PSM is a very reliable magazine, and have never been wrong about a release date.

On a PSM note, they will have a lot of information on GT4 in their next issue. Including something "hands-on." I'll keep ya guys posted.

They only put that release date out to keep everybody happy. Although none of us will be happy till we see the real release date will we.

That news release about the Prologue defects is over 2 weeks old anyway, before they announced the delay till summer. I just wasn't sure if the delay was for Europe only or not.

Well just thought Id offer the information that I found to you all, was not trying to create a big debate, Anyways I am hoping that It comes sooner then later, but then again with all of the rumors that go around it is hard to tell, Here is to hoping for a soon release so that we all can enjoy this Awesome game.

On a different note I went to the Salt Lake City auto expo today and got to check out all of the “new cars”. Mainly it was exactly like last year, but this time they did not have the little rope around the STI so I got to sit in that car. I want one so bad now, it was nice, and so was the 350Z convertible. No new Corvette, just the 50th anniversary version, been there, done that, sat in it last year, Still a very sweet car though. All in all the show was a big disappointment; the highlight was standing 4 feet from an Enzo Ferrari.
