Lol - I did the exact same sitting in a meeting a while back...

Midwest is the easiest from a pure population perspective. The Southeast should be the fastest, but it has the slowest #1 and second slowest #10...although it does have the second fastest #100.

What is needed is a look at demographics - age, income, propensity to buy electronics...or what we really need are GT5 sales figures by state.

Something interesting I noticed...

The top 8 from each region will advance to the finals in Orlando. Here is the 8th fastest time from each region in round 1...

West - 5:13.284
Southeast - 5:13.572
Midwest - 5:13.517
Northeast - 5:12.753

The Southeast is the most populated region and will also provide the slowest representatives in Orlando.

Looking at the total lap times under 5:14 by region...

West - 16 people or 1 in 4,881,986
Southeast - 14 people or 1 in 6,541,996
Midwest - 8 people or 1 in 8,121,447
Northeast - 16 people or 1 in 4,527,963

The Northeast have the fastest Top 8 and also have more top racers per person than any other region.

Bored today AJ? lol

...and yes Jersey, I'm bored! I'm just waiting for Round 2 now that I no longer need to run laps anymore. I almost bought LBP2 just for the hell of it. In fact I still might. What the heck is that game about anyway? lol

Well i finally put a time in on Cape yesterday and i'm in like 50 something place overall. Don't really care about putting up spectacular times in the first round because i already own the prizes. But gonna go super hard in the next round. Didn't wanna burn myself out trying to get stupidly fast times like you guys at the top.

Not if your trying to win a playseat.

I stopped as soon as I won mine. There was some good prizes worth getting and I was going to keep going until I won mine. I don't understand this resting for round 2 stuff. Each time you are on the track you could learn a new technique that could make you faster than the rest.

Also, round 1 ends on jan 23 and round 2 doesnt start until jan 31, so there is a mandatory one week rest period anyway. A week is plenty of time for me to recharge my batteries and get psyched up again for the next round.

I guess it just depends on whether or not you think you have a legitimate shot at winning the prizes. If you don't realistically think you could make top 25 overall, then you could just run enough laps to secure top 128 in your region since that is all it takes to advance. I won a Logitech DFGT after the end of week 1, and had to ask myself if I should just stop there or keep going and try for a playseat. It took me an extra 3 weeks to finally win the playseat but I think it was worth it.

Gurrr ...I'm in that group!! Struggling to be in the 128, last I checked I was #121 :nervous:

Or it is plenty of time to practice driving in the GT Academy GT-R :D

Is the Gt Academy GTR in the game already? Are you able to buy it at the new or used car dealerships? That would definetely be a good idea to practice with it during the off week.

I have splits to put me in the top 25, but I have no motivation lol I only spent one solid night on Rome and got a 21.8 and never went back, then on Cape I gave up mowing the lawn after eating the wall and having to reset the lap over and over, you can only take so much repetition of the same car/track. If I needed a wheel or had a friend that needed a wheel maybe it would be worth it but my setup is better than the prizes so I actually think I am more excited for the poster...which I will probably need to get my time down because last I checked I was bumped out of the top 100. Is it worth a poster to go back to the Academy? mehhhhhh dammit.

Get all Golds on your S license its free.

Oh geez, I have all silver and 1 or 2 golds on the S licence. Is there any way you can just send me the specs so i can build my own. I currently have over 700k so it would just be easier to build it from scratch. so what if it doesnt have the decals. I just need the parts list and the specs. I will send you a car in return if I have something you want.

Just do the test, I did all the s license test on my first try so they can't be that hard. Just remember to take traction control off everytime and your good to go.

I dont know. I find them to be kind of a pain. I alway miss by like a tenth or two but i have had allot of driving on the Academy since the last time i tried so maybe im better now. Maybe it will be easier now.

Still think it would be easier to just build it if i can get the specs instead of spending all that time to try and get all golds.

There are really only two S license tests that are relatively difficult to gold imo; Tokyo in the Ferrari and Suzuka in the Alfa 8C.

hmm... I only need -0.02 to get under 5:14; maybe I should do that to put the NE count ahead of the west. ;)

I put in about 3 hours total since the thing started. I am sitting top 35 in SE last i checked. Have about .7 i could take off at Tskuba, at least a second at rome and close to 2 sec at cape(2:47.6).

My main thing is i just dont have the time to put the kind of required time into it. The daughter plays with my wheel more than me..lol...I should be able to put enough time into round 2 hopefully.

NOw what to do with the gt psp code? I dont own a PSP..lol

I have no idea how many people from each region actually registered, so I just went by total population.

There is no point to this thread. I made it so people can be like, "WTF is the point of this thread?!"
