what are super gt500 race cars and how many types of gt cars are there

GT500 is a class in the Japanese Super GT championship. It's for cars with about 500 HP and there is another class called GT300, making it two classes.

Super GT cars are Japanese race cars under the Nissan, Honda, Toyota, and Autobacs dealerships, GT500 cars are the lower HP cars and Super GT cats are the higher HP ones

GT500 is the top class. GT300 is the lower.

The Lamborghini NOMAD Diablo also qualifies as a Super GT car and can used for the seasonal events. I tried but it felt like cheating using it.

It's actually a JGTC car if you read the description :) which is Japanese Grand Touring Car Championship

Which is what the Super GT was prior to 2005.

And also, Honda, Lexus, Nissan and Toyota are the makes who make the GT500's (along with Lambo). Autobacs, RE Amemiya, Lexus and Subaru are the guys who make the (premium) GT300's, while Toyota have two Standards and Nissan have one standard.

The JGTC became Super GT in 2005 when they started having races outside of Japan. The FIA does not allow a National Championship if some races are outside of the country, so it becomes an International Championship and is directly controlled by the FIA.

I know I'm being a smarta**, but the situation you're describing is not a must:
The DTM had that problem when it got under FIA regulations and went down because of that. That was the time DTM stood for Deutsche Tourenwagen Meisterschaft. A few years ago, they pretty much told the FIA to kiss their behinds and created the Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters. They are under control by an alternate organisation, pretty much the same principle as the ACO. Now they race wherever they want, whenever they want, for as long as they want. No silly hippie-regulations with 4-pot straights and so on.
So without being the "official" german touring car championship (don't even know if we have one), they are the second biggest thing after F1 over here, and are considered the only TC-championship that matters.

I guess the JAF didn't have the ... um ... attachments to tell the FIA to kiss their behinds. I don't disagree with the JAF, but its nice to know that are groups out there that don't always conform to the FIA. Monopolies are boring, the FIA is hugely involved in automotive competition, and there should be some competition to the FIA as well.

Thanks I learned that now :) where else does Super GT race?

I probably should have said authorized by the FIA instead of controlled by, but the FIA is the major governing body of Super GT.
