GT Club - GT Cafe

Hi

Ive been weighing the idea for some days now to setup a sort of Club or Cafe, where people can walk in and for a few bucks be able to ride in a fully equipped virtual cockpit, solo or compteing with others inside the Cafe.

My only concern is if there are laws against using the playstation consoles, software (GT4 - GT5P) and other equipment in this type of business.

If anyone can help me out, perhaps in your town there is a place just like this, or you have heard of something similar being done.

Also Ive tried to find a 'Contact us' link on the polyphony and playstation sites but maybe I'm the blind one! so if anyone has come in contact with them with specialty matters please tell me how!

I can't see any problems having a games cafe with GT4/5 setup for multiplayer racing.

I don't believe there are any licensing issues, you just have to buy x number of consoles, x number of games and x number of steering wheels etc. Just bear in mind that you wouldn't be able to use Gran Turismo in the company name directly referring to the official product without prior consent from the developer.

Sounds like a good plan but as always you have to gauge how much interest your going to get and whether it's going to be financially viable to buy all the equipment. You could incorporate a food/liquor license as an additional profitable side line.
 
I don't know if games carry the same sort of restrictions as films do......but on most films right at the start there is a paragraph stating that this motion picture is for pivate home viewing only and public uses....blah...blah....blah....is strictly prohibited.

But in my opinion I think you have a great idea and if you undertake with this project I hope it works out for you 👍
 
Nope, there is definitely some kind of restriction in a third-party in using a game to make a profit. It may be as simple as requiring permission, but I know from another website that someone was talking about setting up a single game based Café and someone brought the aforementioned up.
