Ladies and Gentlemen of the GTPlanet forums, I give you ... the seat for my up and coming GT3 cockpit!

Basically its a brand new half leather/suede electric seat from a Volvo V70 AWD, I got offered the pair for £40, about $60, how could I say no?!

I'm going to scratch-build my cockpit to my own design - I'll post some more shots as soon as I get a bit deeper into the design. I'm hoping to maintain the electric memory functions of the seat too!

It'll be a dual function cockpit so I should be able to swap between the PS2 and the PC pretty easy... Just gotta work out a decent design for it ... :rockon:
 
WoW!!!!! That qualifies for the bargain of the decade. They look brand new. Who stole them for you?

I work in SAAB road/race tuning and a few months ago we had the opportunity to purchase the remains of the "Viggen" project (a hotted up SAAB 9-3 bascially) from a british motorsport development house called TWR , in amongst all the bits of SAAB stuff there were these two Volvo seats...

They sat over in our exhaust stores (see all the exhausts in the background of the pic?!) for about 4 or 5 months, then the other day while cleaning out a comment was passed to the effect of "what in the hell are we going to do with these Volvo seats?". I made an offer to the boss, and a £40 deal was the result!

They are quite literally brand new, that packaging is as they came from Volvo, apparantly... Either way, they are very very clean and really comfy, perfect for those long GT3/GPL/Racer evenings!
 
Wow - real seats! Your GT3 cockpit will be one-of-a-kind. Be sure to keep us updated! :)

That for sure will bring u the true GT experience!

U wont even notice the endurances with that!
