IF YOU'RE GOING TO POST TIMES, I NEED WHAT TIRES AND WHAT EXACT CAR, IF IT'S FULLY MODDED OR WHICH MODS IT HAS, IF IT HAS A CUSTOM TUNE AND WHO MADE THE TUNE, AND THE EXACT TIME YOU GOT IN THE FORMAT OF X:XX.XXX. IF IT'S A REALLY FAST TIME, A PICTURE MIGHT BE NECESSARY. GO TO PRACTICE AND POST UP YOUR FASTEST TIMES!!

IF YOU DON'T SEE THE TRACK ON THERE ALREADY, PLEASE LIST THE TRACK AS WELL

I think we should have a thread where we can have a list of tracks, and people can post in here on what their best times are and with what vehicle and mods with that vehicle.

Anyone else think this is a good idea? Or is there already something like that? I'm reserving the next 2 posts in case this turns out to be a good idea and works so I can fill in the info.

What about the top gear track with a reasonably priced (same)car , nothing done to it/no upgrades, comfort tyres.

Ignore this idea if you want but I can't believe there's nothing like this online in GT5 when the track's there for it.
 
I'm about to try and get up some of the tracks in either the second or third post, and then some of my fastest times with these tracks and the car w/mods I used. Plus this will give people a good idea on the times cars can run modded/stock and what not.

I have some up but these are from a few days after the game came out and I wasn't too experienced yet, so don't judge me. But I haven't practiced in practice mode in a while so I should probably update soon but I just wanted to give everyone an idea on what I was thinking. If you have ideas to improve please post it up. Also post up some times the track and the car/mods so I can get more up.

This is a good idea as there are no on-line TT leaderboards at the mo, but for it to be effective you'll need to be very specific about the rules and how you intend to verify times posted by the drivers (photo's/replays)... otherwise you will have an almost infinite amount of cars/tracks/modification combinations and thus the comparisons will be meaningless... and it will just turn in to the usual bragging thread.

Fully modded 09 ZR1 untuned

Does fully modded mean absolutely every modification available, as to me 'untuned' means something different? Or does un-tuned mean you haven't adjusted the settings? What tyres were running? etc.

Awesome feedback. Good point though. Honestly I didn't think it through just kind of wished and assumed there would be one on here and didn't see one so I just posted without really giving it too much thought.

But I did mean to include tires. And mods I think of as the performance mods you buy, and tuning as customizing the settings. So if you have a custom tune done by yourself you'd say something like, "Fully modded (car) personal custom tune", or if tuned by someone on here say, "Fully modded (car) custom tune by (username).

Also need some acronyms for the modifications for those that aren't fully modded.

Also my original idea was just fastest lap times. Being that there are a lot of people on this forum, maybe have a top 50, or 25 or so? I wanted it to be something someone could look at, be like well I can take my favorite car around the track faster than that, and go practice and try and get the fastest time they could and have a goal of a time to beat. Not so much a, let me take every car I own and see what their best passes are and post it. I only posted the times on the second post merely for an example. Because right now I'm making passes on tracks and feel like they're fast, but then again I don't have anything to compare to. This is what I want to compare to. Other peoples fastest times on GTP.

Wouldn't a better idea be for everyone to use the same car to even the playing field abit I mean I don't want to set a quick lap in something like a Lamborghini Gallardo and then get destroyed by some chap using an LMP car
 
Yeah, I was thinking the lists are gonna end up huge and totally mixed up, what about having something like a couple of car/track combinations changing every few days or weekly or something like that.

Sounds pretty involved but a good idea.

I don't know though. A lot of people have different preferences on which cars they like. So if you're seeing people have the fastest lap times with a car you have you can mess with it and try and get it as fast if not faster. Not really a, who's the best with a certain car. Just a track list with maybe the top 20 on each track?

Lets get some times and tracks and stuff from you guys and I'll edit them in and get a decent list for people to see and join if they want. I didn't see the cars being in categories really, just a fastest lap with your favorite/fastest car type of list.

I'm not sure. Let's see if we can get more feedback on which people would prefer.

An overall leaderboard for each track.

Or a leaderboard for each track with different divisions of cars?

I can see the different divisions of cars being cool to have, so if that comes to be the favorite of everyone, help me think of ways to organize it and fit it within those first 3 posts.
 
Reasonably pleased with my 6min 43sec lap of the 'ring in a tuned Nissan GT-R. Can't wait to get the X1 round there, I guess a 5min lap might not be out of the question!

What performance mods and is it custom tuned? Which specific GT-R and what exact time? I'll post it up.
 
How about having a couple of boards, FF, MR, FR, F4WD, M4WD, RR, R4RW then it works out like Hatchbacks for FF, Sports and Supercars for MR and FR e.t.c :)

That could work and just have a top ten for each category? I wanted it to have more than that so more people could get on and see they're up there, but if it's favored to categorize it more I'll start trying to organize it. I like this idea though because categorizing in horsepower doesn't mean anything if it's a FR vs F4WD.

What about strike a happy medium at say 15 or something perhaps, Time I think to boot my Evo 9 round tsukuba after b-spec nob has finished farting about

to bad i smashed your time. The first laps with the supra was done with Racing Hard tires on. So i was way behind lol.

Respect if you beat that time. lol. It only took me 10 min to do this lap. your laptime i beat after 2 laps tho.

The official record for real life is 51.875 from an NSX SuperGT car back in 2004 driven by Keiichi Tsuchiya. That could be broken by the same SuperGT cars of today, probably by at least a second.

I did around 55seconds at High Speed Ring, in a completely standard Mclaren F1 with medium racing tyres, not even sure if thats fast but i was giggling at the insane ammount of grip available with those tyres at that track, cant imagine what the softs are like.
