GT finally killed my old PS3

hey didnt read through most of the comments but just wanted to say i have had my ps since day of release it ylod'd 1st time bout 2 years ago and using a hair dryer, desk top fan and a towel every 3-4 months when it yellow lights again i have managed to keep it alive and running like i said have to redo every 3-4 months but its a shame to waste a playstation i have 5 now altogether that ive collected and fixed with the hair dryer but im still using my 1st one it aint let me down yet

The slim is alot quiter and runs alot cooler.

It's not quicker, it has a smaller die size that's all.

Actually, I had the 19 blade fan on my 60GB so my Phat was silent as well.
Though the Slim is slightly less noisy anyway.

Does anyone have any tips on how to maintain a fat ps3? I've had it for about 4 years now and occasionally the fan comes on loudly after a couple hours (usually on warm days).
