Gt force feedback steering wheel

hey, was just wondering if anybody had any tips on helping control the car wtih this thing. i just got it and i'm sure it takes a lot of practice, but anybody have any pointers? thanks.

Give up on the high powered cars. Seriously, if it's anything over 400 hp, you'll have trouble controlling it. In time, you'll get much better at it, and you'll be much faster.

Add a bit more TCS. You should be running it at 2 or 3 depending on power. THis will help you on corner exit.

For practice, take a mini to Deep Forest, or take a Tommy Kaira ZZs or an Elise 190 (in near stock form) on t4 tires to midfield.

These combination of cars will give you the chance to learn. Spend a 1/2 hour running around these tracks iwth the DS2, then spend a few hours chasing that replay (use the start button to turn it on/off) with the steering wheel.

With the slow cars, you'll learn how to approach corners, and get through them, carrying the most momentum.

The other good piece of practice, is the time trials. Particularly the one in the Miata around trial Mtn, and the S2000 at Tokyo.

Lower to medium powered cars so that you can learn to ease the steering into and out of a corner.

Good luck,

AO

Hey, thanks for the info. I've been trying to use my Skyline with over a 1000hp and wasn't doing too well. Still trying to get the hang of it. What do you mean DS2? I'm not sure what that is. Thanks.

DS2 (Dual Shock 2) is the controller that came with your PS2. Also you use the select button to turn your ghost on/off (not start).

you wheel is basicly the same as mine. i have the logitech driving force .. the trick is being smooth. you wanna be as smooth w/ ur turning as possible.;) make sure u set the wheel to professional. Sim for racing if u want, but NOT FOR DRIFTINg!!! come drift w/ me on LFS

yeah, u change it to pro in the options.
LFS is a online racing game for PC, the demo is free and multiplayer.

Ahhh yes, a 1000hp skyline. As frustrating as a three legged dog burying a load while standing on a frozen lake.

The skyline that goes like a junkie and his new score running from the police. Turns about as well too.

Seriously, dump that skyline back to about 350-400hp, remove any Limted Slip Differential (factory settings are better) you've added, and give it another go. I'm guessing on any track other than Test course or Super Speedway, you'll have comparable times (400 vs 1000).

Good luck

i got used to my wheel driving my favorite cars stock and trying to beat some of my comparable best times. U know... the trueno... rx7... and skylines, and silvias. U'll find after u get used to the wheel that you can feel the limits of the car better w/ the wheel, and therefor push the car harder on a higher average than w/ a controller... or at least u'll spin out about 100 times less w/ the wheel.

My main problem with the wheel is that there is a lot of play from left to right. just enough to where i think i'm turning i'm not doing ****, and i have to do it harder but end up doing it too much, very difficult to get used to, but it is very realistic. i'm quite impressed. i can handle the skyline so well with the controller, but this thing is another story, but i will get it soon enough. thanks for the tips guys, keep them coming if you got anymore.
