Hi ppl,
I was thinking in buying one with my PS2 (hhopefully soon).Wich one I should get? I want to drift well, but the only thing I noticed between them is the 900º mode.
I'm a poor student so the price does make a difference, but if the Pro is a lot better then i go for it..
What can you say to me?

There's nothing wrong with what you asked, but it could've been placed in a more appropriate place to reduce the clutter on this forum.

I can give you two very specific reasons why not to buy the GT force (Blue Wheel)

One: it has 75% barking power. It's a known bug in the software.

Two: At full left or right lock, you can't shift. Another well known bug in the software.

No fixes for either one.

Spend the extra cash for the Force Pro.

Ill add to der alta :lol: One flaw I have found with my DFP was the gas pedal would not be at 100% either... However I removed a rubber bump stop behind the bottom of the pedal and that fixed the bug but the DFP is great!

Actually DA, I have the Blue wheel, and I don't have none of the problems you stated. I've tested it multiple times and it has worked fine.
 
Go all the way and get the DFP, it's by far the best asset for playing GT4 (and other racing games). It may be pricey, but if you're just that much into GT games, that is definatly the way to go.

I think the question's answered well enough, take it from here Swift.

That is interesting, as it has ben well documented on many sites, and by noteworthy people. I owned a Blue Wheel (and a momo) and verified that it did indeed have those bugs. Hmmm....

Do you have one of the newer PS2s? That would explain how it works. Logitech finally got a software patch to help that out. Which would be nice.

I don't have a slim ps2, I have the model just before it, let me check the serial code.

Ok, It's SPH-50002, one of the more recent models, so maybe what your saying is right DA.
 
the cheaper way:

1) borrow one from your friend

i borrowed my GT wheel (blue one) and haven't returned it... for 6 months?
 
well i just tried drifting with my DFP and its really hard, how much to countersteer and for how long. Gonna take a while to get used to this :scared:

same problem over here, I have to completely relearn everything.
 
Does Anybody know where a guide to drift is with a DFP, i mean its easy enough with DS2, but is there any excersises to do, to get used to countersteering and how much to countersteer?

Tankspanker, how you going with DFP, do you have any exercises to help contol the drifts?
 
I love my GT Force Pro Wheel... The only real disadvantage I see to it is that after extensive gameplay, your left arm gets really sore... Stretch before excercises!

Watch the BMI special : Drift Bible. 900 degrees is pretty much what KT talks about.
 
Well, the problem with breaking on the older wheel is not software, but hardware.

The potentimeter on the break pedal is not proper for hte range of motion present. In order to fix the problem, the "pot" must be replaced.

I'm using the DFP at teh moment, and its taking some time getting use to.
 
Question: Can i use the wheel on my PC?? With games are tested and works fine on PC???

I know you can with the DF and i'm almost positive you can with the DFP, you just have to dl the software/drivers from Logitech.
 
Well...I have a dilemma...

I have killed my DS2 controller, and don't particularly find it to be very conducive towards my hobby of driving/drifting the Nurburgring, just not enough consistency on a track that virtually demands finding THE perfect line...

I would like a DFP, though it sounds like a pain to get used to 900 degree steering...but I've already been a couple weeks without playing and am jonesing pretty bad...I'm about to start a new job, and will have more disposable income in a few weeks...

Buuuut, I can probably go out and find a DF, probably with the lap attachment (no good tables set up, and I'm short enough that it works fine) in a day or two, I have a new slimline PS2, so hopefully those glitches are fixed, and was just wondering, does the more limited turning angle of the DF make the learning curve on drifting smoother.

Also, how is just normal cruising around with it? Hearing about these "barking" errors and whatnot have me a little worried...But I've seen several around for cheap.

Or should I try to get my brother in law to Ebay me a DFP, and just pay him back when I can?
 
can any of you guys actully drive a real car in real life, yet alone drift one, cuz if u are havning trouble on a game magine you on the road with a s15 silvia on a slippery road,(900° is way m,ore realistic and better to learn how to drift on) controllers are just to easy cuz its full lock wen u press the botton with the DFP you have to do the work which IMO is alot better and more fun.
