Hi,

Lately it has become commonplace for different racing cars to compete together at an equivalent level, whether in club racing, big endurance events, and in particular in the upcoming American Le Mans Series. With this in mind, some time ago I spent a good amount of time attempting to find a set of regulations under which as many different GT race cars as possible can compete. The formula I came up with is this:

575PP - variable power - 1175kg min weight - Race Hard tyres.

These figures may be reached by any Super GT car, any DTM, Gran Turismo Touring Cars, a number of Race-Modified vehicles and Gran Turismo 'LM' race cars. Almost anything short of LMPs and old GT1/GTS cars (such as the ORECA Viper, Nissan R390, etc.). I tested all the cars I own around Grand Valley East, and barring the NSX-R Proto LM (forgeddaboudit!!!!), I got them all within a second of each other.

Running these regulations in a series, I believe the racing could be extremely close off the bat, and closer still as the championship progresses through a PP-deduction success handicap system. Since PP and weight cannot be simultaneously regulated easily, this will require consideration and trust among competitors.

I would like to host a multiple-week series, perhaps just 5 events to begin with, on a range of suitable tracks. Weekly events would consist of two races of roughly 30-45 minute duration, using qualifying for the first and reverse grid for the second. These cars are quite easy to drive at this performance level and on these tyres, so aids will be barred (except ABS). Events would be held either on a Saturday or Sunday evening at around 8pm GMT/UK time.

Pending interest levels, I would hope to hold this beginning February, hopefully.

If you are interested, and/or have any questions or comments, fire away, and please also state which weekend day would suit you best. Many thanks!

Sounds cool, any days for me bar monday, friday and saturday
