At first glance, it’s easy to dismiss League as being trivially easy, however that’s a player choice.

Here are my three self-imposed objectives in most League races (at least on tracks not called “Streets of Willow”, which I can’t wait to see the end of)

  1. Win the race
  2. Make it “clean”
  3. Maximize the Handicap Bonus

Turns out to be a profitable strategy!

Yep, lots of XP to be had. Despite what people are saying about it all being available in Custom races, I'd never have bothered to set up a lot of the events in League (Willow included) and I certainly wouldn't have hammered around Nurburgring GP for an hour, but the prizes make me glad I did!

Someone should start a thread for GT League that highlights cars/tire configurations that are good matchups in the individual races.

In everything below the Endurance level, I picked anything in my garage which was at least two groups lower than the race level. If you stiffen the suspension and sort the handling a bit, three groups down seems like a nice challenge and gives you +60% bonus. Gives you a nice opportunity to use the cool cars you own which are normally too slow to use!

I was thinking something more specific. Like, "I used X car in Y race with Z tires and won by 2 seconds"
 
I've been wanting scaled rewards for these races since the inception of the GT series. Glad others are enjoying also. Slower car, more cash. Finally!

Nice idea! I need to know what race that was you won there because I don't care about XP or credits I NEED those Milage points.

"I used a maximum tuned up Sambabus in the Boxer race at Alsace, SS tires, and got a 90% handicap bonus. Almost got to be third last but missed out to a GRMN by a whisker"

I've been doing this as well, even tried a maxed out Samba Bus in one of the Boxer races. That was over ambitious to say the least. :lol:

I usually try to use as slow a car as my skill level will allow, 2 groups down is usually still an easy win, 3 down starts getting interesting, and I'm thinking I had a set where I was 4 down, but can't remember for sure or which it was. Had to be in the Beginner section, I would think.

I'll raise your BlueMoon with the KTM XBow configured at N300

In fact all 3 N1000 races can be easily be won with the KTM XBow with 150% bonus, as long as you can keep it from spinning out.

I wanted to try it with an N200 car but there is none expensive enough to qualify.

For the second endurance race you can dial back the Porsche one level for +20% bonus for a 9k xp payout, more if you can keep it clean. I couldn't, stupid AI started ramming me.

The other pro league races have a rabbit in the race so you can only make second place with the N300 XBow, unless you are really good at blocking. I tried a couple time in Alsace yet eventually got pushed out of the way, bye bye clean bonus as well.

That bluemoon race is the fastest way to make money/xp without cheating, and pretty challenging to make it to first while keeping it clean. The other cars are much faster on the straights, yet you go a lot faster through the first and last corner. Especially in the first corner you have to watch out not to run into them. They like to drop to the apex late and then go far wide regardless if you are there or not.

GT League pays much better than a custom race. The best I could squeeze out of a custom race was about 140k by cheating with fuel use. N200 car against GR.1, maximum difficulty, start last, no boost etc, fuel use x10, drive with fuel map 5 on Nurb 24h. The GR.1 cars run out, you can just pass the first one on the last corner. It's hard to keep clean though since the all start driving side by side when out of fuel. That takes about 11 minutes, the blue moon race takes about 12.5 minutes for 2.5x the money and 8x the xp. Plus you are actually racing at speed, not touring around chasing fuel starved cars :)
