GT Legends is still brilliant

Just downloaded the digital version for Win7 and installed a load of mods and tracks.
Got it looking nice with my average Nvidia card and I think it is just about the perfect game no matter how old it is. (offline I mean. Haven't tried online)

Some of the mods are so realistic and exciting to drive.
Cost me £8.50 or $9.99. Total bargain.

I know it's old news but it surprised me how great it still is.

Moved to the correct forum.

Daan, not to be annoying, but I'm not sure you've moved this thread appropriately. This isn't GP Legends, GP Legends is a game based on old GP Formula 1 cars, GT Legends is based on the FIA GTC series and isn't even made by the same company.

And yes, GTL is still amazing! I got the same digital copy, and just yesterday I was racing my Porsche 917K at Bathurst, oh the difficulty. While my favourite car that comes with the game is the Porsche 906, I must say the best to drive is the BMW 3.0 CSL (the white/blue one, not the more powerful one).

Just tried the BMW 3.0 CSL at Bathurst. Excellent and sounds great. Also the 2800S and the CSL Turbo are great to drive.

Ferrari 512 S Coda Lunga is brilliant.

Just wondering if there are any mods for Ferrari P330 Race Car and Alfa Romeo Giulia TZ2.
Rouen-Les-Essarts is another decent track.

I think the 330 is a work in progress. And I have the 512 S too, got it the other day, it's right up there, almost as controllable as the Alfa 33 Tipo. That is a great car! I found the Porsche 917 K to be very difficult though, it floats all over the place.

Will keep a look out for the 330.
Just been racing with 30 cars at Rouen and also using various cars including the little Opel GT. The feedback to my wheel is great and it all feels so real.

Cheers mate.

I bought the game via download as well. It is fun as hell.

For those of you who don't know if you want a ton of cars and tracks go to www.altbierbude.de

On there you can install a script file that will automatically download and install 366 Tracks and 1638 Cars(skins) for GT Legends from their server. It beats grabbing tracks individually and installing them manually.

Once it's installed you can just run the application every once and awhile to get any newer cars or tracks added. Follow the FAQ on their website how to install the scripts and follow the instrcutions. If you have problems let me know.

You can then join their servers for multiplayer anytime and not be missing any cars or tracks they run on their servers. I just did this for my local installation, I haven't tried a multiplayer game on their server yet.

I did this for rFactor (www.bockbierbude.de) a couple of weeks ago and now am running it on my GTL install as I type this. For rfactor it added and installed 501 Tracks and 2616 Cars.

Thanks..Loads of stuff there.

No problem!

The process is a bit slow, it's peer to peer but it does finish. You can stop it and start it anytime. Also on their site you can see right on the main page what each server is doing and who's online.

I'll be trying the multi player soon for sure.

All the events look awesome and I love the old school posters they make for them.

Downloaded all the cars and most of the tracks..Will check out the rest later.
Got my mate downloading too.

Cheers

Wouldn't that use up a hell of a lot of space on your hard drive? I mean I've only got 36GB left. And my PC is being held down enough as it is.

If you download everything with the Auto update, GT Legends goes from about
2GB up to about 18GB.
You can just use Auto update to dl tracks or cars. It installs them all too.

I've heard of that Altbeirbude thing before, I'll have to get on it soon. That said, the only mod I have for GT Legends is the KPGC10 Skyline, I have the Falken one, although I'm dubious about the physics it's the closest I'm going to get to a proper simulation of one so I'm happy to ignore that! I think there's one in Grid and there is one in Shift, but I can't think of any other sim that has one.

And yes, GT Legends is still brilliant, but so is GP Legends... That's much older!

I seem to be looking back to the older games atm. Just installed GTR2 and it is still great. Used Nvidea options to bump up the graphics and everything turned to max.
Looks great and getting 100fps. Ai is quite good too.

Power & Glory mod installed.

Just in case people don't know, you can download GTR2 for free and the company give away free serials to anyone now. I think it's because of bankruptcy.

I'm thinking about reinstalling it. But does the game support widescreen 1920x1080? I can't remember.
