GT Mode Cars----->Arcade Mode Cars?

Just a fairly quick question concerning cars in GT Mode vs cars in Arcade Mode.. (I actually asked this question once before, but it was lost in the shuffle of a much larger thread and was never answered).

We already know that cars that you buy/win in GT Mode carry over to Arcade Mode for our racing convenience. Which I think is grand, because I'll be able to drive all of "my" cars without worrying about killing the engine (nearly all of my cars will be stock anyway).

But does this hold true for ALL the cars you win? What about the harder-to-find variety? The Nike car, The Ford Model T? When you get those elusive Golds in the Super License, is the Model T available in Arcade Mode? (I know at least one person can answer this.. hehe). What about the rare used cars, like the black LeMans prototypes? (the enigmatic "black 787B" and the others). If you buy one of those, does it also show up under Mazda in Arcade Mode?

Also, are there any indications that, eventually, ALL of the game's used cars will be available to race in Arcade? I'd like to have the freedom to drive anything I want, but I'd rather not have to buy every used car on the lot in order to do so. I'm hoping that maybe at 100% or something, that every car in the game becomes available (with the possible exception of the License prize cars). I don't think anyone's hit 100% completion yet, so this question probably can't be answered at the moment. But I figured I'd throw it out there anyway.

Think I found a flaw in the Moderation... the thread still has it's original time stamp, so when it's approved, it magically appears on Page 3, instead of at the top of Page 1 where it belongs. So nobody ever sees it. Hence, *Bump*

I have won the nike car twice, sold it off twice (well dumped it, it is far too cheesy)...it now appears in the arcade mode along with all the other cars that were not there when I first looked....

It seems if you win it or buy it in GT mode, it pops up in arcade mode.

And I wouldn't say winning the Nike car is hard, either - all you have to do is get a certain licence (you don't even need Golds to do it) ... does is sell for much?

used cars: buy them and they appear in the arcade car lots.
black LM´s: buy them and the cars are available in arcade mode, but only in their original colors

The F1 cars appear in the Arcade mode after you win them as well :)

Thanks Flinx 👍

i want to know will the number of cars increase by how far you gone under GT mode

No, it increases by how many cars you've bought/won in GT mode. When you buy a car in GT mode and use it, it then appears in the arcade mode, same goes for winning a car, once won it appears in arcade mode.

One question. If you unlock cars by buying/winning them in GT mode, what cars do you start off with in Arcade mode?

A lot, some super fast, loads mundane. I couldn't list them though.

I'm not surprised, that'd take ages. Is it like the old games then, where there was a selection of cars available in different classes to start with.

Not really, it's more like GT1 in that you select a manufacturer and then the car and your raced against similar competition.
You can see some pics of the screens over at Maskriders image gallery.

Thanks live4speed. I have seen those screens and that gallery before so I should have known. :boggled:

Don't knock the Nike car! It is my favorite for tight twisty tracks. Put the difficulty level on 10 and you'll be racing something like the Cadillac for 200 brownie points. And often winning!

The only problem I have with it is that it sounds like someone scraping their fingernails across a chalkboard.

So you can use this car in any race in GT mode?

No, he's talking about the arcade mode.

So in order for it to appear in arcade mode, you have to purchase it first? Or are all of the cars available to buy in GT mode already available to race in arcade mode, even if you haven't bought it in GT mode?

Doesn't driving 'your' cars in Arcade Mode put mileage on them too? It does in GT3. You would still have to be carefull about how hard and often you drive your cars in Arcade Mode.

......unless you reload your save after you 'test drive' them......

No, in arcade mode they're not your garage cars, they're like the arcade mode cars in GT2 and 3, as you go through the cars in GT mode the same car appears selectable in arcade mode thats all, it's not loaded from your garage.

So if I win for example Subaru Impreza Rally car and tune it , then in arcade mode it's still appears with it's original hp?

You must buy/win the cars to enable them to appear in Arcade mode (except some special colours which only available with the cars in your garage in GT Mode), trading from another memory card will not have effect on the arcade car list.

Arcade mode will be stock regardless of how you tune/modify the cars in your garage.

And the max. number of cars with manufacrurers selections is 704 up til this moment from what I read in a Chinese forum (the guy posted a Chinese save with 711 cars in the garage, he spent a lot of time gathering the cars).

in arcade mode, there are many cars are missing even it is available to buy from GT mode
such as McLaren SLR, Zonda, etc
after you buy one of the missing car in GT mode, the stock car will be available in arcade mode immediately
also note that even you sell that car in GT mode, that car will still be available to drive in arcade (stock form as always)
this pattern also applies to prize car (including license test prize)
even you sell your prize car in GT mode, you can still able to drive it in arcade
so if you are stupid enough to sell a license test prize car, you still have a chance to drive its stock form under arcade mode
which is a good thing

well,
i´m currently on 707.
But i think thats the max number.:)

Is it easier to choose your car than the god awful way in GT3, are they listed in subsections or one big section?

For Arcade mode, you use quick tune. In quicktune I think i remember seeing an option that says 'power' that you can set from +20 to -20. Is this a way to 'tune' the arcade mode cars to get a bit more extra power in them? and how much extra power are we talking about? -20hp -> +20hp or -20% -> +20% or -400hp - +400hp ????

and can you setup these arcade cars or is it the same like in GT3 that you just can setup your own cars from YOUR Garage?
that would be silly if not cause they´re not at the same setup--->in GT3 for example the R390 Race Car had a bit harder tires than the GT-One Race Car.....

and how you choose cars in arcade mode?....at first the track(as usual), then the class of the cars(A-Cars, B-Cars, S-Cars)and then directly the car you want as in GT3/GT4 Prologue??
or is it after manufacture:
first track then manufacture and you see all the cars listed which are from that manufacture?

Alright, thanks everyone for clearing that up.....guess it will be a challenge trying to collect all of them. But it will be enjoyable, except trying to collect the 40+ skylines, and trying to keep track of all the vspec, vspec II's and R34's and 32's :yuck: ....too many names...but it should still be fun :)

Also, what if you don't have enough money to collect one of those "rare" used cars at the beginning when you do'nt have as much money? Will it regenerate over time so you have a chance to get it again?

Yes , you can buy them later in the game ;) Don't know which day....can anyone tell us which days those rare black cars avaible , thanks!
