Hi all,
I have question regarding my gt-omega wheel stand. First of all I have to say its a great wheel stand, but my problem is that the front of the wheel stand is way to light because when i have to move the wheel quickly it goes in the air. For example: when i get oversteer and try to catch it, the stand lifts itself up in the air.. Does anyone else have this problem or knows how to fix it?

Regards daniel

I thing you're way too rough with it man, I have the same stand (I think, check my sig if it's the same one) and it never lifts. Maybe, you might need to mount your pedals further back to keep the back down? I'm thinking that you're too rough with it though.

Thanks for the reply bluntified, yep it seems like you have the same wheel stand. It could be that im too rough with it, but unfortunately this is my driving style. When i lower the height of the wheel it works more or less fine, but if i put the wheel in a higher/more realistic position it lifts of the ground. Its a pitty because other than that the wheel stand is very very good. I'll try with lower force feedback, maybe this will help because i have the force feedback on 10 on my g27. I will let you know if it works better.

I tried with less force feedback and its a little bit better, but still not perfect. Maybe i'm really too rough with it..

I use the same wheelstand with a T500rs running my pedals in the inverted position. Due to my driving style I seem to get move movement of the base side to side but very little lift even when I'm dragging on the wheelbase but everyone has a different style. What wheel setup do you use?

Are your pedals flush with the very top edge of the pedal base plate as I'm thinking you might be able to attach some form of weights to the front to counter lift. Something like slate perhaps?

I use a logitech g27. I tried to put some weight on, but the problem is that i dont know what could ve heavy enough but at the same time fits on the pedal base plate..
I will upload a foto to show you my setup later on.

Cool. Cheers. Actually just thought of another way. If you put a piece of heavy material like the aforementioned slate (can be found cheaply and many places will cut to size) under the pedal plate on the front of the main lower frame not only would it weigh the whole rig down but it would put no bend stress on the pedal plate.

Alternatively you could increase the height of the rear of the whole chassis by unscrewing the rubber feet and sliding some bolts over the threads and screwing them back in. Would alter the geometry of the chassis by making it slope slightly which might make it harder for the front to lift.

Thx for the advice juris. I'll try to increase the height of the rear. What exactly is slate?

Slate is just a very dense type of stone that is usually quite cheap to buy. You can get it in various colours including a very dark grey, almost black and different sizes cut to your measurements. Drop it on your foot = no foot. A small oblong slab of that cut to measure at the front of your wheelstand and its going nowhere.

Ok thx juris. I know what material you mean. In the meantime i tried to increase the height of the rear for 1cm and surprisingly it feels a lot better. Im very happy about it, i think i dont even need a piece of slate.
