This is to help those looking for a review of the GT4 Pro wheel, for those that want to see drifting with the wheel, and those wanting to see something different and new.

Rather than seeing replays, here is actual real time video of me using my GT Pro wheel drifting. I hope this influences others of how great GT3 is when using the wheel. Make the wheel purchase, its worth it. Leave me some comments.

If you are playing the video with Windows Media Player, you can hit Alt-Enter to get full screen.

Extra gameplay footage with wheel and pedal inputs.

Gotta get that wheel. didnt see the drifting itself all that good.. Monitor probs.

Yea, I know the moniter and camcorder don't share the same refresh rate so its hard to get a good picture, but at least you can see the wheel in action.

You guys should somewhat be familar with the course to know where I am on the course.

Thanks for the review Breaker.
The drifts were pretty good, but the gameplay with the wheel looks amazing. It looks like so much fun, shifting, throwing the wheel, droooooll........ I need to get this wheel soon. ;)

Yup, np, I needed to share this with you guys, the wheel makes playing the game 100 times better.

How are the pedals? Is the wheel belt driven or gear driven? Is there anything else you can tell us about the wheel? (I sound like a reporter). ;)

The pedal device has a bigger base than the older gt wheel, which makes is more stable pluse the addition of this carpet gripping thing underneath it...it will stay on the carpet which is one of the best improvements over the wheel besides the 900 degree and shifter additions. The pedals are more responsive than the older wheels, meaning you can actually control your rpm better, if I want to hold the rpm at a certain position, it ain't a problem. Not saying the older pedals couldn't, but there is a definate improvement. The brake pedal is stiffer than the gas, which feels more realistic.

I can't wait to get it in my grubby paws. I never really got used to the GT Force, but I want to put some real effort into getting good with a wheel, so this might be the ticket. Do you know if the wheel is belt driven? (the driving force and GT force are gear driven, the Momo Force is belt driven).;)

Is there a way for me to tell the difference? I don't know

Getting good with the wheel took me some time. Learning to use the wheel was a challenge and a fun learning experience. You won't pick it up immediately and may think that the wheel is inferior to the controller when you find your self driving back and forth on the track, but be patient with it, because it is definately better than using a controller. Anything too easy ain't worth your time. :)

A quick question, did you import the wheel or is it available in the US?

I haven't seen one yet in the UK and no gameshop seems to know about it.

I picked it up at GameStop in my town. They should stock them. There are like three of them in my town, and all three had the wheel stock. EB games had them too.

I'm uploading this image for those on 56 k and want to know what the video is like.

I can't thank you enough Breaker, I got the Driving Force. But I thought if I spinned it too quickly it would break. Your video showed me that your suppose to turn quickly and etc. with it.

Its pretty durable, I play GT3 lots, and always with a wheel. I drive it this way lots especially when drifting and the wheel hasn't broken yet. I have the Driving Force and Driving Force Pro.

Belt driven feals smooth and fluid. Gear driven feels notchy. If the wheel is $150 it's most likely belt driven. The Momo Force is belt driven, and it's the same price. ;)

Hey man, thanks for the vid. I got a few questions. Have you tried drifting with the 900 degree mode? I heard there was a way to unlock the 900 degree mode in GT3. If you did try, when you enter a drift, does the wheel spin in the direction of counter steer like in real life. I am pretty sure that it won't do this because people might break their fingers but I'm just making sure.

Secondly, how durable is the shifter? I saw you pull it hard a few times but you usually do it lightly. I am asking this because I am a little hard on my wheels (I broke my Logitech Formula Force).

Thirdly, does the wheel hook up to the PC as well? If it does, can you use the 900 degree rotation. I know the last wheel from logitech worked on the PC so I am hoping this one will work too.

My final question isn't about the wheel but what capture card do you use and what hook ups from your ps2 do you use (svideo, composite, component)? Is the picture as good as a TV? Thanks again for posting that video and some information on the wheel.

That was 🤬 awesome!!

Question... why play GT3 on your monitor and not tv?? Do you have a PS2 emulator??

Some people play GT3 on the computer with the help of a TV Card/ Tuner Card. It makes recording clips easier so that there doesn't have to be any switching between the TV connection and the computer :)

I thought you do this since you have a capture card to make your videos \

Anyways ....

I'm on a slow connection, so it'll take me a while to download the clip, but it looks cool :D

I can't afford the wheel now since it's so expensive, and I'll probably get a combo pack or when the price drops. Much like what has happened with the Logitech Driving Force :O

I've tried the 900 degree mode, but since the game wasn't designed for Gt3, it isn't that effective. What the 900 degree mode does is it stretches out the original 180 degree input values of the wheel to fullfill the 900 degree inputs. It just makes drifting harder. However you have the option to calibrate the wheel once in 900 degree mode and it would work.

The shifter is simple design, I doubt it would break. It just sounds like I'm shifting hard on it, but thats the clicking noise that it does everytime I shift.

The wheel does hook up with the PC.

I have an ATI Radeon 8500 All in Wonder Card. It allows S-Video and normal Video and Stereo Input into my PC. I use S-Video for better quality and yes, S-Video makes a big difference, you can notice it in the text within the gameplay. Picture is as good as TV and has more options because it is a PC card. I can change aspect ratio and play in widescreen if I choose to. I can also zoom into specific areas of the screen for a bigger picture. Oh the other special thing is that I can select PAL, NTSC, NTSC-J, etc, etc...stuff that I don't know.

Yes, I am the first with a PS2 emulator... just kidding, I wish. I have a video capture card that accepts video input to play on my computer. My ps2 sits right next to my monitor.

Silviadrifter:

I've just spent hours with a friend, teaching him how to drift using a wheel. Phew, all nighter, but with the wheel he was able to drift and liked it very much. took him through license testing to understand weight transfer and high speed cornering, and then put him on some SIMS to get started. I'd recommend to wheel to everyone now, because this kid I spent time teaching picked it up in 2 days. We started yesterday, and he finally got some nice drifts going tonight.

I have an ATI Radeon All-in-Wonder 9000 pro. What do you play the video in, when your playing? What program? I would love to play GT3 over on my monitor, that would make capturing vids so much easier. ;)

I also hav the Radeon (not the all-in-wonder though :p) and it only brings up a very small screen when capturing vids... hence my question about the PS2 emulator... Coz I know there isn't a working PS2 emulator out yet... atleast not what I know of...

You are damn good!

how did you play your playstaion 2 into pc?
how did you get the GTprowheel? Did you buy at Ebay?
Is it 900 degres the steering? i saw only 180degres....
