Geekpulp talks to Sony about the sales figures for GT Prologue and whether they thought the online version would outsell the hard copy on Blu-Ray Disc. They expressed their surprise at the popularity of War Hawk as downloadable software and said that they anticipated GT to receive an even warmer welcome when it comes out later this month.

Also mentioned in the conversation was that the pre-order figures for the SCEE regions show orders already at one million. Making the PS3’s first pre release Platinum title.

Well GT aint the billion dollar franchise for nothing, the monster is almost here.

Yeah and that was before the F1 Ferrari was unvailed just a few short heady hours ago!

Christ it's going to utter chaos on-line.
Please let there private lobbies please.

Yippee I'm 1 in a million

I hope there isn't some shortage of games...errrr wait yes I do, then I can hawk it on eBay for some stupid amount of money and just re-buy it a week later.

In all seriousness do you think there will be a shortage? A million units seems like a huge demand to meet.

That's nothing to these big sellers like GT. At most, if you didn't reserve it, you won't find it in stock for a while.

Meh, I've yet to reserve a copy and I've bought 2, 3, and 4 on release day. 3 was as it was coming off the truck!

Since this is the first wide-spread Prologue, I'm sure they've planned for it. Each of the full games has sold at least 9 million, so 1 million can't be too much of an issue for PD.

GT dominates once again, funny thing is that its not even the finished product lmao. With Polyphony its no suprise.

No so on topic, but sort of.

The first GT5P spanish TV ad was aired out a few minutes ago, of course, during F1 qualifications.

I hate to admit it but theres nothing really big going on right now for Xbox (exclusively). It seems like only one company (T10) has the ability to create an exclusive racing simulator for xbox. This is why im kinda leaning towards PS3 and PD when it comes to sim driving. It is said that Grand Theft will have more content downloadable. How much will they be yanking from my account? Forza 2's new cars are like $12, and they dont seem like there worth it, hence Ive not yet seen one online. Point is ill buy a PS3 just for GT5 and F1alone but its a win/win situation because of no montly fees and Microsoft nickel and diming me for stuff that should already be included in the games or console. At one point in time we tried to "strike" by entering our mottos as "Make Live Free". Nothing happened of course. Dont get me wrong tho ive been an Xbox fan since day one, playing Halo, Sega GT, Jet Set Radio, Castle Wolfestein and all those first year titles but I will be spending alot of time with Sony in the next couple years. Hopefully I will be able to stay dedicated to both.

Oh no....I hope our servers don't go chernobyl on us...

I also hope I get my Pre-Order from amazon the day after release, I did Pre-Order it a while ago so I should get more priority.

"Hey is that smoke?!" :dopey:
But still, 1 million copys is alot! I don't think I'll pre-order it though. I just hope I'm lucky.

Lets say the average game price was 20 Pounds, thats 1 Million times 20- 20 Million Pounds! Just from the prologue, and imagine how much more money they're gonna make from normal sales and digital DL.
