GT rally racing

I dont know if its just me but i always felt the rally racing in the GT series sucked... it just feels way to slippery, literally, u have to ***** foot around the entire track to prevent yourself from sliding off. Is there really some method of rally racing that im just not understanding??? I mean im pretty damn good at GT and have mastered alot of grip and drift techniques, the rally on the other hand just pisses me off, any comments?
