Good morning everyone,

I’m in need of a little help here. So yesterday, I bought the Logitech G29 steering wheel and so far I’m happy with it (it is my first wheel and I bought it in purpose of playing GT Sport on my PS4). But, there have been 2 issues with it.

The first one is that when I fitted it in my desk, it appears not to be secured properly because it slides a little bit when I make a harder movement with the shifter or the steering wheel, and I have locked it as hard as I can. Last night, when I changed to fourth gear the entire shifter went out of the desk. Any tips to secure it better?

The second one: when I am playing with the shifter, I notice that when I clutch and i’m not on the throttle it changes gear just fine. The problem is, when I am using the throttle and try to shift, it just stays at “N” and I cannot shift to any gear... is this normal? This requires me to be very careful when changing gears when using the shifter and it’s almost impossible for me to shift quickly consistently because there is always a time between shift that it stays in Neutral...

When I got the wheel I plugged directly to the PS4. I did not plug it into the PC yet.

Any tips?

Thanks in advance!

Don't know about the shifter issue because I don't have one with my set-up, but with regard to not being secured (and I assume when you say 'desk' you are talking about a standard piece of wood furniture) when it is fitted to a proper stand or seat there are bolts that secure the back of the wheel and shifter assembly so if you are only using the front clamps it will be unstable.

Thanks for your reply’s!

Unfortunately, I don’t have any wheel stand to place it on at the moment... I am thinking to buy one in the near future but I don’t have much space.

I need a solution that doesn’t take up much space such as the wheel stand pro as it it foldable and has shifter support. Any ideas on a not very expensive and compact solution? I feel it very unstable on the desk indeed.

Regarding the clutch problem, should I update the drivers or change some setting? I don’t think this is normal :(

Drivers in G29 is only for PC use.Updating the firmware will do nothing in Ps4.

Hi Pinto, you mention space is a challenge for you. Hope this can give you some ideas. If you can spare 40" wide, 36" from the wall into the room, 60" high - please see the way I have my gaming equipment set up. My PlayStations are hard wired, the laptop is WiFi. In this photo (it's an older shot from about a year ago) you'll note my wheel is the older Logitech Driving Force GT which is now replaced with the Logitech G29 (without the shifter) and it works GREAT for PCars, GTSport and a number of other games. I'm using a computer desk and dining room type chair (the arm rests really help stress on my old shoulders), why a computer type desk? Becauseof the shelves and the slide out (which I've bolted securely in the open position - it will not, does not move), I'm using a 32in monitor, and there's still space on the desk for my 17" monitor Dell laptop so I can keep up on what's happening on GTPlanet GTS forums when I'm not playing GTSport. Ps; I did have PCars 1 & 2 - but traded them in toward the $ of GTSport,, I did not like either of PCars games at all.HTH

An ironing board and camping chair are easy to set up and easy to stow away, and you probably already have both at home:

Thank you everyone again for your answers! I will definitely consider those solutions for mounting the wheel :)

What is really annoying me now is the shifter not working when both the accelerator and the clutch are pressed simultaneously :(

Same issue over here. I use a G29 w/shifter on a WheelStandPro setup. I know for a fact I can do quick shifting in Project Cars and Assetto Corsa, but for some reason GT Sport seems unable to process the accelerator and clutch inputs simultaneously. Really hoping this gets fixed soon, as I'd love to run through the gears. :(

Is there an option in the game to enable the clutch?
I could not find one and using the clutch doesn't seem to work, it does not have any effect. I use the shifter without the clutch.

I'm curious how you managed to do that, since I find there's no method disable the clutch. My pedal board works fine and I can activate the clutch (provided I'm not on the accelerator like the OP said). My only guess is perhaps your clutch pedal is malfunctioning, but if it works on other racing games it may just be a weird glitch.

Clutch implementation has been a problem since ever in GT. It won't let you change the gear with throttle engaged.

The clutch pedal works just fine in other racing games. I guess I just keep playing without using the clutch, changing gears works with both the shifter and paddles without for me somehow.
