The Inaugural
GT SPORTS 400 CHAMPIONSHIP

A series for modified production models, offering a test of skill, close racing, affordability, and a huge variety of eligible cars. The spirit of old school Gran Turismo.

As the name suggests: Sports tyres; 400 bhp. Simple.

No racing/rally specials, just good honest road cars of any kind and any drive type. No limits to modification, besides a maximum of 404bhp, minimum of 1250kg, and sports tyres.

This series will take place over the coming months on a weekly basis, some time on Sunday evenings GMT. The championship is open to 12 entrants. Individuals only, no teams. Penalties strong, damage light. No driver aids (except ABS).

The circuit lineup:

1. Autodromo Nazionale Monza --- 35 laps
2. Trial Mountain --- 42 laps
3. Tokyo R246 --- 36 laps
4. Deep Forest --- 45 laps
5. Laguna Seca --- 40 laps
6. Special Stage Route 7 --- 9 laps
7. Suzuka --- 25 laps
8. Grand Valley Speedway --- 26 laps
9. Nürburgring Nordschleife --- 7 laps
10. Circuit de la Sarthe 2009 --- 12 laps

Events will consist of 30 minutes practice/qualifying, followed by a race of approximately 1 hour duration. The championship points structure will be:

1st - 10 points
2nd - 8 points
3rd - 7 points
4th - 6 points
5th - 5 points
6th - 4 points
7th - 3 points
8th - 2 points
9th - 1 point

The championship winner will be awarded a mystery car (hint - something for a future series..?).

This thread has been posted to try and guage any interest. If you are certain you are interested in taking part, please register your interest on this thread, and include your PSN username. Places given on a first-come-first-served basis, although if any drop out before the start, the offer will be given to the next poster in the thread of the place in the series. Confirmed entrants will be befriended on PSN, events will be held in a private lobby accessible from GT Community.

Publicity-generating (hopefully!!) 'taster' events will be held in the coming days. Look out for the lobby name: GT SPORTS 400.
