GT SUPERCAR SERIES – 2004 – Interest check

GTSWanRd4.jpg

Hi Guys. I hang around at Racing Line and don’t get out much ;) but thought I would knock on a few doors and say g’day.
We are running a series, which might interest some OLR drivers. It should only take about an hour in each week to complete the weeks event, so should not be too draining, and hopefully give a bit of a live feel.
I have included the details below and if anyone takes a fancy, please drop in at:
http://www.racing-line.org/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=2278
and pass a few comments

The Series
The GT Supercar Series would be run over a period of between five and eight weeks, depending upon feedback.
The races are run using the Tickford Falcon XR8, as it is bought from the dealer, with the addition of all tyres T1-T8, and oil change.

A driver will be allowed to run the race three times only and all three race attempt times for the Round would be submitted, that is, running the race in each Round three times only, and each of the three attempts will count toward the results for that Round. Practice in Free Run would be unlimited.
This would then mirror the series along the lines of the Australian GT Supercar series Ford vs. Holden.
Unfortunately we do not have any Holden Commodores yet in Gran Turismo, so we will all use the V8 Ford.

The times for each of the three race attempts for the Round must be submitted in order ie. attempt No.1, attempt No.2, attempt No.3.
Points will be awarded to each driver based on the placing in each of the three attempts (in order) and the points result for the round, and round winner, will be the driver with the most points after adding up the points awarded for the three attempts.
Also a one Bonus Point will be awarded to the driver with the fastest T1 in Lap 1 of each race attempt.

The Rules
NO CHEATING OF ANY KIND - All drivers must attempt to race 100% wall free and attempt to keep 2 wheels on the track at all times (Ripple/Rumble strips are part of the track).
Only three attempts are to be made at each race, submitting the time gained for each attempt in the order that they were run ie. No.1 attempt done first, No.2 attempt done second, No.3 attempt done third.
As the number of attempts at each race is limited and each attempt must be recorded, driving infractions (AI contact, wall touches, more than two wheels off the track) are permitted, but these infractions must not be intentional to gain a race advantage – this is cheating.
Replays of all three attempts must be kept for each Round (but only for 1 week after the round is completed). Replays will only be called for verification if there is a query about a time from another driver or from Race Admin.
Races will be run in Arcade Mode and GT/Sim mode.
When starting the race, you must start from the back of the Grid.
AI contact is not to be used for any racing advantage.
No HYBRIDS! of any kind. This includes "sharked" cars.

Points would be awarded like this.....1st-20, 2nd-19, 3rd-18 and so on.
There will be one bonus point given to the driver with fastest Lap 1 T1 in each race.

The Car
Tickford Falcon XR8

The car is bought from the Car Dealer / Australia / Tickford / Cr. 1,500,000.

The Tracks

Tyre Wear
Tyre wear will be a consideration in the series. The choice of tyres for a given Round or any given race within a Round is the driver’s choice.
A driver must not run the race to test tyre wear – this would be considered an attempt at the race.
Race Admin will suggest a set of tyres for the first race of the round, but a driver is under no obligation to accept the suggestion, and is free to use whatever combination of tyres is deemed fitting.

I didn't get to do round 2 because I didn't know what the track was, and I didn't get the chance to go on the net at my dad's house cause my step sister is obsessed with it! She wont get off. Also I was at clipsal so, yeah, it took up more time.

Maybe.
