I am trying to complete the GT World Championship (professional events) with my Nissan Skyline GTR 1991 Fully Loaded simply put can it be done....?
I would think this car is generally capable of everything you need in this game.. but i am beginning to 2nd guess that? I am having a really tough time in the World Championship and also even in the All Japan GT Championship.

Let me start off with what i have currently have it tuned to, after numerous trial an errors.

738 HP Fully Loaded

Name - F R
Spring Rate - 11.2 13.2
Ride Height - 80 82
Shock - 8 8
Camber - 6.0 5.0
Toe - -3 -4
Stabilizers - 6 7
Downforce 100% f/r

Limited Slip
Initial Torque - 30 25
Acceleration - 35 32
Decceleration - 13 15

Transmission is set at - Auto 20

Long 12 lap course superhard front(R1) and hard rear(r2)

What am I doing wrong here? In the All Japan GT Championship it feels like i am really really close and I have come to the 10th lap outa 12 consitently on 1st place's but and suddenly loose all edge with tires and get down to the end of the pack.

The GT World Championship feels like I cant even hang the first few laps.

Cliffs: Can a Fully Loaded 91 Skyline GTR in the GT World Championship or even the all Japan GT Championship.

Thanks for any input you guys have.

I seriously doubt that a Skyline, especially one with only 738 horsepower, will be not even close enough for the GT World Championship. A lesser race car like the Viper Oreca does it just fine.

From glancing at your settings, your toe and camber angles are very extreme and to some extent unnecessary. No car is capable of utilizing 6.0 camber with springs as stiff as yours. 3.0 is about the max that is actually useful. For the rear, it is even less, as you don't want to use excessive rear camber to create oversteer. Same with toe settings. It seems that your tires would get fried after a couple of laps with the current settings. More importantly, you actually aren't using all of the tire possible when braking and turning- where the opposition has the most advantage over you. Excessive camber destroys braking ability, especially on R1's.

I assume you are using Racing brakes and a BBC. If not, then I would suggest buying both and tinkering with them.

By raising the ride height (perhaps more of a difference between front and rear?) and having a high front / low rear spring rate, you can induce oversteer upon turn-in and it improves responsiveness, much like a FF car.

Or, instead of messing with the spring rate, you could just remove the limited slip diff and see the world of difference the intelligent OEM LSD makes. It prevents perpetual understeer that you would normally see in an AWD car.

With this, you probably have a good chance at the japanese championship. I'm afraid the GT World Championship is hopeless to run in a used skyline, to the best of my knowledge.

Well for a start, have a look at your Camber and Toe settings. On ANY circuit with a straight they are going to just Shred your tyres. Additionally, when you say fully loaded I must assume that you have full modifications, probably with a Turbocharger stage 3 or 4. That will not help your tyre. Lower the Toe, Lower the suspension, and for the GTWC USE A RACE CAR.

Many people, including myself, have used a top-end supercar, but that required very close races, numerous cut corners, and a lot of frustration. You are best off with a MINOLTA Toyota from Capitan Endurance, or any race car of its level (ClassC/LMP).

AS for the Japan GT championship, you are only racing JGTCs if I remember correctly. Lower your toe to about 0/-1, and your camber to 3.0/2.5, and that should give some more life to your tyres.

Hope this helps

Edit: Beaten by Tandem!

Yeah, the key thing you're missing is that cars in the GTWC are way, way faster than cars in, say, the All Japan GT Championship. The fastest cars in it have 900+ HP, weigh about 900 kg, and have about twice the downforce of most race cars, let alone your Skyline with 30/30 downforce.

I think the advice you've been offered here is correct.
Your roadgoing, but modified Skyline isn't going to be sufficient to hang with the GTWC guys, maybe, just maybe, lineup 10 after a reset (commonly touted as the easiest to beat) would be possible, but it's going to depend on whether you're on NTSC version or PAL version as there's one car difference and a crucial speed difference between them.

It should work in the JGTC though, lesser vehicles have been know to conquer this, but 4WD tyrewear will be an issue for you.

It is, however, possible to beat the GTWC in a JGTC car. ;)

To everyone that responded thank you alot..:)

I really appreciate all of the feed back and I am sure it will help dramatically..

I will be working on the Japanese GTC and let you guys know how much better it should be.

I am willing to atempt the GTWC but like said it may be hopeless.

Thanks again.:sly:

Sorry for the newb questions but how do i know what version I have? and which version has the harder speed difference.

Thanks again everyone.

^^Thanks... My 50" Hitachi bulb blew :ouch:on me I havent been playing on my save file with the Skyline. I just ordered the Bulb so possibly this week I will re enter the Japanese GTC. :dunce:

Neway I am gettin my bro set up well with a new file, we havent bought any cars and are taking the license 270R Nismo far.:sly:

So I changed my tuning per the recomendations, It was alot better :) especailly with the tires. :dopey: I also turned off the Limited Slip. That also... helped.. though I would hope you achieve better results custom tuning it ??. I am very confused though, as I finished the 2nd race in JGTC (Suzuka Circuit East Course 12 laps) a few days earlier gettin in 5th place with a better time than today when I won the race...

Thanks all, I will let you know how the rest of the JGTC works out.
