Well I was one event fro mfinsihing Amateur league and well I ddint save o nthe 9th race so my corvette C5R failed me.

I was doing fine untill my tires got bad and well so the Viper Passed ma! So I need soem tips for wich tires to use is 5 laps or 10 laps thanks

10 lap races you should be doing without a pitstop - you lose roughly 20-24s on a stop, depending on the track, so really you'd have to have some serious speed and hope that 3 grades + softer tyres only need a single stop.

With no-stops in mind, you really should be going for as hard a tyre on the fronts as possible - the front wheels take most punishment in most cars - especially if you use a DS2 controller.

T2 tyres - super-hard (PAL) or super-slick (NTSC) - are the hardest race tyres you can get, and can often last 20-30 laps on their own, so it's overkill for a 10 lapper and can lose you time running them in.

I'd look at T3s on the front, T4s on the back for a 10 lapper in a powerful FR car like the C5-R.

If you have a different race car of that quality, I'd also look into running it instead of the C5R. The race 'Vette murders its front tires very quickly, and it handles terribly once they get orange.

I'd be amazed if you got 10 laps out of T3s on the front of that car, but you might. I'd buy both and try it. Good luck!

The Altezza LM is hard on front tires also. I'd give the Impreza a shot.

The Impreza LM with the VCD set to 10%, and a lot of front downforce shouldn't be too bad.

With my settings I run t2 on the rear and t1 on the front, the best thing witht he C5R as anyone who uses it alot will tell you is to be slow and steady and don't over drive. On the 10 lap race, for the first 2 laps be careful til all 4 tires are in the green, on cold tires if you drive to hard into a turn and get on the rumble strips you WILL spin. Shift early and keep it below the powerband through tight turns get it straight and then drop a gear and accelerate hard, this keeps you from spinning and gives excellent ET's.

use the altezza and dont corner so dam hard!
t2 tires will last easy on the altezza..

also increasing your asm and tcs will help tire wear

With the C5R, on 5 lap races, use T4s on the front and T5s on the back. On 10 lap races, use either T2s all the way around, or T2s in front and T3s on the back. The Altezza Race Car? Way too freakin' tall! :banghead: :banghead: What was PD thinking on adding that much bodywork to the car? :banghead: :banghead:
