Hi, other thread got closed as i was apparently discussing illegal activities when mentioned P2P and rapidshare so im posting it again in a legal way:

Hi, I love the music which is in GT1 UK (Pal) version. I taped all the tracks years ago onto a tape, when I first got GT1 in 1998.

I was wondering if anyone knows where to get the music from the UK version in a digital format? ie. Itunes or from a shop etc.

I know i could download the original tracks from an online store or something, but the tracks are different as most on GT are instrumental only. (Some of them sound far better without the vocals.)

I purchased off Amazon the GT1 Album, but as its not the Pal version of the music, half the tracks are different; and actually, quite rubbish.

Id like all the tracks, as they are on GT1, in a digital format... Have wanted it for years as my tape is now over played, low quality and in mono. So in my car, it only plays through the left speakers! lol.

If anyone knows anywhere i could get them from, or perhaps (If it is legal) how to record the tracks from the game onto my PC in stereo so i can burn them to CD for my car?

I know, working in ICT, that you can make a single copy of any CD you own (at present...) but im not sure whether this applies to games? I'm just getting very frustrated having to use a tape all the time. lol.

So if anyone can help me (in a legal way because i don't want this tread closed like my other one) id be really appreciative! :)

thanks

EDIT: Is it possible to record the music onto my PC if i run the game through an emulator? If it is legal?

I think the answer is still no so far as legality goes...we'll find out in a few minutes. :nervous:

I would answer your first question but I'm afraid the emulator police might find me! :scared::nervous::(

Yes, I'd recommend taping it for legal reasons and simplicity. As for CD, I have no clue, though it is more convenient.

I have taped the soundtracks for 5 of my video games, and it works fine.

Yes.

If it is legal?

No, because it's still making copies of music. But by that logic, I should be locked up for using my iPod.

The best thing to do is find the names of the songs (assuming they weren't composed purely for the game) and then purchase them from wherever. I've never played GT1, but I assume they've used music that's available elsewhere.
