Hey guys, I've been playing Gran Turismo for a while now and thought it might be fun to relive old events from past Gran Turismo's, except this time online against other people! For starters, how about the original Sunday Cup? This would be a 3 race event in which there would be 2 laps per race. The tracks are as follows:
1. Autumn Ring Mini
2. High Speed Ring
3. Grand Valley - East Section
Qualifying:
Qualifying would be a 1 lap time trial from a standing start from position 1 on the starting grid. The fastest lap getting Pole Position and so on... If you need to change your tuning after qualifying and before the race, that's fine. Just don't change the car you're using.
The settings for the room would be as follows:
Regulation settings:
Car Restrictions: Unrestricted
Performance Points: Unrestricted
Power: Unrestricted (Well, I'm considering 177 HP and having this be a Class C event.)
Weight: No Limit
Drivetrain: All
Tire Restrictions: Unrestricted
Vehicle Tuning: Unrestricted
No Skid Recovery Force
No Active Steering
No ASM
Driving Line Off
No TCS
ABS allowed
Event Settings:
Game Mode: Normal Race
Laps: 2
Start Type: Grid Start
Grid Order: Fastest First (See Qualifying.)
Boost: Off
Penalty: None
Automatic Race Start Cycle: Off
Race Finish Delay: 180 seconds (Why not? When the last person finishes the race ends, the race ends shortly afterward, no matter what this setting is.)
Visible Damage: Off
Mechanical Damage: Off
Slipstream Strength: Weak
Tire Wear/Fuel Consumption: Off
Grip Reduction on Wet Track/Track Edge: Low
The event would be semi-dirty. By this I mean, rubbing paint a little and cutting corners is fine. Taking someone out on purpose isn't. In addition, seeing out the first Gran Turismo came out in 1997... No vehicles newer then 1997.
We could also have a practice session of the track the day before that track's race. (Mainly to make sure that people who signed up are coming.)
There would also be a points system. (Modeled after the first Gran Turismo.)
1st: 9 points
2nd: 6 points
3rd: 4 points
4th: 3 points
5th: 2 points
6th: 1 point
Also, why not give the winner of the Cup a Mazda Demio?
Also, this is my very first post here. Single event posts go in Interest Checks & Competition Discussions and if I was going to have it as an ongoing event type then I would make a league in the Clubs & Leagues area, right? Please correct me if I'm wrong.
Basically, what this event breaks down to is the first GT Sunday Cup online in GT5. Let me know what you guys think about this event.
