I hate to just make a thread over this, but, I would like to get others input before I send this in for repair. I already have an RMA # to send it in.

My GT2 for some time now has had a couple, let's call them tendencies of it's own.... For 1, it does not like to fire right up below 65 Fahrenheit / 17-18 Celsius. (http://s1235.photobucket.com/albums/ff421/agp5000/?action=view&current=VID00007-20110221-0715.mp4) I have to move it back and forth a few times, let it sit for 5-10 seconds, then it turns on and calibrates. This is where the story begins....

When I calibrate the wheel from dead center, the "center" of the wheel is now about 20-30 degrees to the right. When I "center" the wheel @ 20-30 degrees to the left, it is truly centered now while racing. This is for all PC/PS3/Xbox360.

Also, no matter what I do, while racing on PC, the wheel every 3-15 minutes moves it's center 2-10 degrees to the right. (http://s1235.photobucket.com/albums/ff421/agp5000/?action=view&current=VID-20110708-00008.mp4) So, I can only do short races before it just feels weird going down the straight. I can only re-center while pitting.

Now, while racing, I can keep competitive without issue. If you take a look @ my iRacing page, you will see. Only reason for my incidents is because someone else hit me(Anthony Palombo for reference)! I can put the wheel issues in the back of my mind while going 140-210mph. But, would you guys put up with it for as long as I have(8 months)? Also, has anyone else had similar issues, or how is your GT2 been (excellent/intermittent)?

EDIT:While under operation, other than those little things, the GT2's feel and immerse-ness are 2nd to none amazing for PC. It does lack on full shock and rebound effects on consoles a bit. But, I am mainly for PC, and for the price, fantastic!

Thanks in advance guys/mates/chaps for any insight or input!

Hi AGP.
your wheel has several problems.
with the issue of turning on - the fact that the powerbrick light is green does not mean the voltage is getting to the end of the wire.
to do a test you will need to get a voltmeter - turn it on to D.C. Volts - insert the + ( red ) probe into the center of the male plug on the powerbrick wire.
connect the - ( black ) probe to the outside surface area of the plug.
you should see 24volts dc ( plus or minus 1 volt ).
if you have the proper voltage then there is a connection issue inside the wheel - this could be from several places in the wheel - at the power switch - at the female plug - the circuit board etc. etc .
also you could do a wiggle test ( with the power switch on ) just wiggle the connector and see if the wheel responds.

as for the center issue it seems to be the position sensor ( at the end of the feedback motor ).
if it is still under warranty just get a replacement wheel.
good luck

Thanks Dave! And it is. I will be sending it in later this week. Just got the iRacing bug back because a few of my friends decided to sign on as of late. I also have been in contact with the US CSA out in Arizona. He feels its main PCB & code-wheel sensor as well. I might live with it until I license up, then send it in.

Again, thanks!

Fyi: this is a replacement as is from last year. The other one had the SAME issue with power on, but not the center issue. It is what it is. As long as I can still race, clean and competitively, I will decide when to get it repaired thanks to prompt CS.
