Just a quick question, I am thinking of getting a new wheel soon. I have a Carrera set up so already have pedals and a shifter, but am looking for a wheel for FM4. Should I get a CSR or a GT2? I know the they both have same mechanics and electronics, but have their differences. Any advice would be helpful!

I have quickly searched but not found anything specific (please point me in the right direction if i have missed the answer elsewhere!).

Thanks.

I have the same doubt: GT2 is full rounded, has some buttons near the rim, full covered with alcantara, and include the Logi G´s pedals adaptor, but CSR has better paddle shifters, better look and design (for me, more racing) and is an FM official wheel.

I was in the same situation but I went with the CSR since it's newer and was in stock as the GT2 was not at the time I was buying.

Thomas of Fanatec is on record saying the electronics are not identical between the CSR and GT2.....that there has been some improvements made to it that apparently change the way it behaves slightly. The INSIDESIMRACINGTV guys stated once that there were also some small changes to the internal mechanics of the CSR compared to the GT2.

I think irregardless the CSR is going to feel quite a bit different mostly due to the reduced mass of the CSR wheel and from everything I've heard the paddle shifters are a huge improvement over the old ones ( my only beef with my Turbo S )

I think it comes down mostly to which one you like cosmetically. Aside from the gloss plastic I love the racy look of the CSR over any of the Porsche designs. The GT2 is a nice looking wheel though and I don't think you'd be disappointed in it.

Ah, my mistake then. I thought the CSR was a refreshed GT2 and the Elite would be a whole new system. Either way, it seems like the CSR is the way forward then. I just hope that it doesn't feel as cheap on the rim as ISR made out with the join of the plastics being so noticeable.

Has anyone used a CSR/GT2 and a Carrera by the way? Is there a big difference or is it more subtle?

I was in the same situation and went for the GT2. I like the look of it better, even though I didn't like it in pictures. IRL it is beautiful and that alcantara is just the best of the best!

People seem to complain about the paddleshifters. I don't think they are bad at all. Not any worse nor better than the ones on my old G25. Well I don't use them anyways... =)

having had the gt2 for a short while before it broke down and now having a crs , i would say go for drs.

the new electronics should make it more reliable, the paddles are far better,
and he button positions are i my opinion much better,(almost identical to the official microsoft wheel)

It's solid and imo, ISR should have never said that, that is their mistake. Sure it's snaps together (I'm assuming they are right about that) but i'ts not flimsy or anything; very solid.

/\ I got mine within a week, but I'm on the west coast. If you are in NJ, I would expect it to arrive soon, in the next couple days?

WHOA?!!! really???? If so I'm ordering this week!! I haven't ordered because I feared the whole 3-4 month wait that happened with the GT2!
Wifey is going to be pissed :P
