GT3 Cam!

A while back Jordan and I (mostly Jordan, but it was my idea) set up my webcam image to be my avatar. It was really cool because it was refreshing every 15 seconds and people could see me ... yadda yadda.

But! This is a GT3 website, not a LoudMusic website (though sometimes I do let my rampant popularity go to my head :rolleyes: ). So I had this cool idea. My Intel wecam Pro has a video input on the back of it. So I bought a splitter and a long cable and ran a video feed to my camera.

It's still updating every 15 seconds, and it won't always be GT3 (my girlfriend prefers to look at me), but I thought this was a neat idea so I thought I'd share. I'm going to go do some JGTC style racing for a while. Enjoy! Or don't, but at least you have the option (:

Yeah, it's kinda cool. Don't know if it's useful for much, but it's interesting.

must be the settings here at work cause i cant see anything but a small box with one of those blasted red Xs in it :(
 
Hmmm, it is loading from a non-standard port. That could be an issue.
 
prolly, who knows... could also be a firewall issue here too
 
Well, that's what I mean. Since it's not serving from the standard web port your firewall is probably like "who dat? uh, no"
 
This is so like you Loud, always using you webcam, its pretty neat!

Can you now make an HTML page that automatically refreshes every 15 seconds somewhere?
 
I used to have a javascript that did that, but it was clunky so I ditched it. The manual refresh has always been 'good enough' for me.

What I'd like to do is get my PVR-350 working in preperation of GT4. We'll see.
 
Anyway, I'm headed to bed - might hook it back up tomorrow.

I'll post in this thread next time I do set it up. I'll probably run an endurance in the near future and hopefully have some close competition to give it something worth watching.
 
Hey LM, What happened to this cam. I was hoping to see you tearing round the track. This post hasnt done anything since the day it started. Lets see some LM style racing.
