Hi, if you don't know me (most likely
), I'm a GT By Numbers guy, but I'm trying to spread this thing 'round the place... From what I can tell, there's a bunch of people out there making hybrids (like me - and you?), but because hybrids are so 'diverse', people rarely get it together at the same time and do a bit of plain ole' racing.So i wanted to throw this out there as just an open-ended challenge, really simple, no deadline, almost no rules. Just something to see where ego meets reality...
Very simple really:
Build yourself a car, no restrictions to xyz hp or downforce, just build what you want to drive. Or drive something you already have - doesn't even have to be a hybrid. Set it up how you like then run some laps around Midfield Raceway, the traditional hybrid test track. Once you're happy with one smokin lap, hop a flight to Tahiti and head for the dirt... Adjusting in-game settings only, see what your creation can do 'round Tahiti Maze.
Done!! Two hot laps, one on open tarmac, the other on twisty dirt - same car.
Quickest combined time will sit atop the Grip 'n' Slip (it's cheesy, I know) leaderboard!!!
The point is to see & build some fast cars, and for hybriders to have a few more ghosts (PAL & NTSC) around to chase, so if you can hybrid, you're capable of emailing a replay right?
I'll put them all HERE for d/l, with times for each track and overall standings. Might end up with 'Open' & 'Sub 900hp,Game D/F Only' classes or something... if neccessary. Ill put standings (but no replays) on the gtp thread.
Seeing as your replay will be available for public download, just make sure your laps feel clean enough for your conscience(deliberately vague!).
I'm not going to assume some BS authority to deem this and that 'clean enough', I just wanna do some hybrid racing!! I think the balance of only requiring 2 clean laps, and having WAY too much power should mean that a minor 'excursion' is not such a big deal - but if someone's ahead by 0.2 you know where to find it!!
