Yesterday I had a little nostalgic feeling so when I got home for work I rooted around for my Japanese Gt1. Bunged it in my playstation and was prepared for a shock. However it was not the graphics I was shocked by. I started the first licence test and FAILED IT ABOUT 10, times then I got bronze. I then gave up and chucked it back up into the cuboard. I then found GT2 and tried to play that also and because I had a save for It i decided to do a quick race in the MR cup on Grand valley east, I used a NSX type R and guess what I LOST HORRIBLY

The reason for this is that stupid little Icon that tels you when to brake and what gear you should be in in GT3 and the frustrating thing is that you cant turn it off. So it has made me crap at GT1 and GT2. The other game it made me lame at was F355 in the dreamcast at Laguna Seca. ARRRR I hope they dont put that feature in GT4

i never notice them lights! LOL

i played gt2 again a while ago and the cars handle nowhere near as good **SLIPPYSLIPPYSLIPPYSLIPPYSLIPPYSLIPPY !!CRASH!!**

That annoying little blinking light, is almost always wrong. I actually watch the road to know when to brake, and listen to the engine to know when to shift.

With the advent of technology, comes an over-dependence upon it.

Give me a gun, and dog, and 400 acres, and I'd be most happy.

oh yeah, and my wife...

When going back to GT2, I couldn't get used to not having analogue buttons. I just could not drift around Autumn Ring at all because of that!

i had a go at GT2 not that long ago and like you`ve all said it hanndles so crap compared to GT3, when it was loading up i was thinking that the only difference is going to be in the graphics, BUT NO the cars were all over the place (even thought that was my fault saying the cars did it makes me feel better :D ) i honestly thought that it would be the same as GT3 just with dodgy graphics, how wrong was i

I know what you mean but I just cant help looking at it. I so wish there was a way of turnng it off. The gear things are wrong because I take certain corners i will take in a different gear than the one suggested. The rally one is complete crap

Exactly, that light at rally games makes no sense at all. I try not to look, but it is unavoidable, when it starts blinking it just distracts me, so i have to look. I try not to brake when that light blinks, but to remember my own brakepoints.

the GT3 framerate is twice as fast as GT and GT2. GT and GT2 had a 30fps (frames per second) resolution, while GT3 is at least 60 fps. That's why it's incredibly hard to play them...

Fwd cars didn't understeer at all in GT and GT2 neither... i liked that...

Whats this? People actually pay any mind to that blinking light? lol, I just like to think of it as a broken "Service Engine" light. I never even realized that it blinked when you where supposed to brake, I just thought it was a shift indicator that was screwy. Dammit, now that I know this Im probaly gonna go back and wont be able to help but pay attention to it now:fez:

Heh Heh Heh I converted another sucka to the flashy red light

ALL HAIL THE FLASHING RED NUMBER AHAHAHAHAHAHA

I can still play Le Mans 24 hours and WRC after all the time I spent on GT3 :D

I managed to do a lap around Thruxton on Toca2 lol !

I would dig out my copy of toca 2 but it looks worse than GT1 so Ill wait for toca race driver to come out

And just like a real 'Service Engine' light, the best thing to do is stick some black tape over it! :D

I thoght the blinking lights were only an indication of when the engine hit redline. Never really took note of it though. :D . I played GT2 yesterday & I was off-roading too much with the road race. I raced easy mode on the arcade with the S2000 and actually managed to spin out @ the beginning of the second lap in the 1st race of the GT League. I still can't believe that. I was never that bad. Of course I thought the handling on cars were sucky. :yuck:

Another thing is that idiotic gear-change light, it's always a gear or two worng and most of time I can't help shifting to 2nd or staying in 3rd while I should've just kept the revs up or downshift depdning on the situation...

black tape indeed..

I would do that but I probably wouldnt be bothered to move it so when I play MGS ill walk straight into a guard that the black tape was hiding behind. Mind you Black tape is the official quick fix For British Touring cars. "Quick The spoilers falling off" is cured with industrial strength black tape.
