GT3 newbie here...

As a new member here i'd just like to say that this site rocks..
Having been a veteran of GT1/2 I recently bought a PS2 and yes my first game was GT3..only one word to say AWESOME! well at least on the graphics front...I thought the music was much better on previous GT's.
I just bought my first car a Toyota sprinter trueno GT-apex(in white) bit pricey tho!! And have entered the beginners league.
I've had about 30 races(won 6!) and so far i've managed to get the car upto 187hp..I've noticed that it has since risen to 190hp anyone any ideas?
Couple of negatives..what happened to the race mod option? shame it was left out, and maybe some more newer courses would have been good.
Anyway top site here..Bring on GT4!!
 
Welcome tp GTP! Use the search button too. THe reason why your car has risin in HP is because the cars in GT3 will rise in HP after oil change. Plus it goes up because o the milage, known as a 'Break in' which you might know :p...

Frustrated Palm is right - the site's been around as long as the game, and with the breadth of membership there's a strong probability it's been discussed before, so don't be afraid to search - that said, if you can't find it, don't be afraid to ask either!

The forums have moved on a fair bit from GT3, so you'll find plenty of other material to keep your interest.

Just won an MX-5 an bin polishin those alloys.... :eek:

Welcome, Nidgi! I'll make my standard suggestion - before you modify that MX-5, get some T2 tires and fresh oil and run the Roadster Enduro. It's all stock Miatas, and with the super slick tires, you can win on pit strategy even if you fall behind at the beginning. You'll win 100,000 credits and a chance at some good cars, including an F1.

Hey, Nidgi, When you get a racing car, try the 1 hour endurance race on superspeedway, so that you can win the f1, or, any other endurance race, they all have an F1! They handle great and have amazing acceleration!

Interesting choice of a first car. You are remembering to upgrade more than the engine, right? The Trueno gets rather unruly if you put too much under the hood.

If you've changed the oil recently, that would explain the power change. From now on the first thing you should do with a new car is to change the oil, because it gives a slight increase in horsepower. It wears off as the oil gets dirty, but keep changing the oil regularly and it'll prevent any noticable power loss.

Basically the game was a little rushed since it was a launch title, so Polyphony didn't have the time to put in everything that they wanted to. No doubt the next GT game will be even more expansive now that there's less pressure to kick it out the door at a specific date.

Anyway, hope you plan to stick around for a while. Make sure you check out the Write-Ups section as well, that's where a lot of our local talent gives detailed descriptions of the races you'll have ahead of you. It's really quite helpful. :)
