ok i had this idea on how we can get up to 6 ppl playing gt3
together but they dont have to leave thier homes! You woould
need a firewall/i-linkcable(have both ends the same) you hook the cable to ps2 and pc, then you would run a program(made by my friend or whateveer) which in turns sends a server connection and the info coming out of the firewall to your friend etc. We would be able to do like 6 player online i-link drifting battle!! Now i'm still in the production stage but if anyone wants to help out just contact me etc..

The cpu wouldnt know what to do with the information. Plus you're forgetting all the programming involving the loby area, talking, and the other people on your screen. Wouldnt work.

actualy, it might work. You should try and contact gamespy. They did a thing like that, but for Halo. Its for the xbox, its called like Xbox tunnel. It just sets up a link using the XBox and a pc. It works for all multiplayer xbox games (ones that enable more then one console). WHo knows, it might work

Well i know about that! ANd plus I'm apart of gamespy i have a hosted site under them soi guess i can just contact thier techsupport!!

that would rule and i just want to tell u guys about an idea i have about gt4 online there should be a drift area and they should have cones set up and you should have to run into one and not crush it but keep it in front of you while drifting what do you guys think?

:odd: :odd: :odd:

lol have you ever seen drifters take a cone and make the front of the car hit the cone so it slides with them while they drift

oh.... yeah i tried it but its hard and i cant keep it there but my idea what to have comps where you would get points for every second of slide it was touching the front and the winner would get money or a car

good news my friends at techsupport can help me out a bit heh!!
So i guess this might actually work!!

I'd had thought of this idea too. I have a network card, and firewire pci card on my cpu, let me know if I can help out with testing or researching.

What would you do about lag through the ethernet cord? it doesn't transfer data as fast as firewire, would this be an issue?

welll see the information from the ps2 will go threw the firewall not the netadpater for the ps2!! but then theres the problem with sending the info over the net when on pc... lag is a minor issue!!

thats right by the time you guys get this working you could have gt4 and a network adapter

Exactly, and i just found out that the adapter works with any router as long as it's attached to a pc.

whats the point of the broadband on gt3

hmm well i have a network adaoter i play Midnight club 2, thug and other game online but umm i just thought we could put something together pretty soon ...

Well im not sure if this is totally possible but in theory drifting online through ur network cable could be possible I have no idea how you'd go about it tho.

If we have any avid Xbox fans around you might know there was a way to hookup your X-Box to the PC and use a tunneling program ( of which the name fails me right now ). And you could fake a lan on ur xbox.

Playstations are configured similar to that because they have lan ( i-link) and wan (network adapter) capabilties. But those kind of tunneling programs aren't that easy to create... I don't really see this idea comming to light anytime soon :P

I was just about to make a thread like this but the search function led me here first.

Can't you send any kind of data over the internet? I mean, there should be a way to send a stream of unmolested information to a specified user without converting or corrupting the content, right?
