WTF-MuRRe
Hi!
I have decided to buy to the GT3 RS now that Fanatec have re-introduced the Clubsport Edition.
But before I do I have some questions.
Watched the InsideSimRacing review and they gave the Plug&Play awful scores.
I'm gonna use the GT3 mainly for GT5 but of course also for all the racing games for PC that my GTX260 can play at decent graphics.
My questions are, as a PC "veteran" (I can solve most issues myself when it comes to Windows).
1. How hard is it upgrading the wheel/pedals?
2. My PS3 is on 3.55 and NOT upgrading, is this an issue?
3. How many hours will I have to spend in game to get the GT3 to get working good with GT5?
4. How much time does it take to adjust the Clubsport Pedals?

Thanks (Alot) in advance

I don't have a gt3rs but I do use a wheel for gt5 and pc racing. The wheel took me about six hours to get used to. I've been playing for over 60 hours now and I believe I am finnaly pretty darn good with the wheel now. However I had never used a controller for a racing game. Gt5 was my first racing game and I used a wheel from the start. A wheel doesn't take long to get used to but it takes a long time to get good with. Imho

There were several reviews made by SRT so I am not sure which one you mean.

The issue with Plug&Play only happened on the V1 but now there is only the V2 available.

1. What kind of upgrades are you thinking of?

2. no

3. 1 Minute. Just add some "deA" in the Tuning menu and make sure you run "SEN" at 900. You can set "ABS" to 50 if you like

4. Also depends on your taste. In worst case you need to disassemble them which can take an hour.

Do you already have a wheel? I had DFGT and I was used to my new GT3 in about an hour, its been running strong for about nine months, about 2 hours a day, at least. Its great, have no worries, its all you want it to be!

Is it possible to have pedals just sitting on the floor and play (not fastening them to anything)?

Thanks for all the answers

Need more help :D (ASAP)
Should I go for the Shifter?
(Don't think I will pay 100 Euros for the new one)

I'm planning on getting this wheel with the $30 shifters too! It's a great deal IMO, instead of buying it for $420 for buying the separate parts, its $360! So yes go for the shifter, its a lot quieter and from what I have heard it feels quite nice. Nothing like a G27 shifter, but good overall.

👍👍

Its not ideal,:) the Wheel Stand Pro will sort any fastening issues its around £100.👍

It's just I started with the plan of buying the GT3 RS CS edition.
Then I found the Porsche 911 Carrera which is a complete package.
Because the CS edition was gone I was like "NOT spending 40 euros more because Fanatec decided to take down the package".
NOW the GT3 RS CSE is back.

ARRGGHHH.

Was think that I might be able to make my own stand, but I don't know.

Something like that.
Just wanna spend as little as possible on things other than the wheel/paddles.
SO hard...

About upgrading, I was talking about the firmware on the wheel.

Upgrading is very easy.

Gt3 rs cs is the best bang for the buck.

Just ordered one for my son on mon, will be here wed.. Been using a turbo s cs for a year would never go back to g27. Will order gt2 when they get in-stock if they have any left, I need the xbox 360 compatibilty.

For GT5, would you say a shifter is mandatory?
(Just wanna keep the price down as much as possible)

I got the H shifter, but have never used it. I like the paddle shifters and use those exclusively. If it wasn't included in the CS pack when I got it I certainly wouldn't be missing it.

Personally I can drive a manual, but have never progressed to the point of being able to heel/toe downshift. Most new sports cars are coming with paddle shifted transmissions and it seems like clutches may become a rarity in the near future. So, personally I don't see the point in becoming proficient with a shifter when it just isn't needed anymore. I certainly don't have a problem with those that do though.

indeed !

2. My PS3 is on 3.55 and NOT upgrading, is this an issue?
No, worked perfectly fine till dunno, way before 3.55. Mind making setups on the wheel. It clarifies most issues!
3. How many hours will I have to spend in game to get the GT3 to get working good with GT5?
Depends on you. Not many. 1 or 2. Once you get used to the high FFB and the little shockers in the wheel its very very comfortable.
4. How much time does it take to adjust the Clubsport Pedals?
Either switching top down setup or adding the stronger pvc resistance should take about 30mins. there is a video guide on the page or its affiliate 911wheel.com.

enjoy!

might not be mandatory but it definately adds to the immersions factor being able manually shift like in a real car. I would definately recommend getting the shifter especially as your spending so much, may as well add another $30 to get the complete imersion factor.

not mandatory but very nice.
They announced a new (very cool) shifter recently. Check it out, you might wanna wait with ordering the current one.

I recommend you to take into account the T500RS,
so that you can realise the difference you look for (as showed by you in another thread). But you are who must take the decission.
