Forget it, im done with GT3, my save got corrupted somehow and im not gonna go puting more countless hours into it... I am a huge GT fan but i get really discouraged when **** like this happens... if you were in my spot, what would you do?

Personally im fed up and i refuse to start over.

well, i'd go buy a sharkport and d/l a gamesave that was pretty close to mine. or d/l one with all the arcade TT's and license done. after that it's all the best stuff. :) or if you have a good computer, play some FIA GT :D

what kind of memory card do u have? what brand?
and do u ever shut off your ps2 while saving/loading?

I would start over if it was me. I love playin gt3.

Personally I'd inject an air bubble in my vein. That'd be why I back up to a second card.

Have you tried copying to another card and seeing if you run it off that?

Or maybe it's your card slot. Try slot II and see if that works. Clean the contacts on your card itself using ethyl alcohol and a cotton bud. If you know anyone with an air compressor, take your PS2 round and blow all the dust and other s*** out of it. Then try again. Also, if you know anyone with a PS2, see if theirs can read the game.

U should restart over. I have finished all of GT3 and still I restarted it all over again. Thats it of course if u are a true GT fan. Also screw the third party mem cards. Get the original Sony PS2 one.

Ive had my gT2 and gt3 save corrupted. Gt2 was corrupted with one of those dexdrive things, so I took it back to the shop. GT3 got corrupted by a dodgy pirate copy of GT3, just the day after I got an F1 car. I started again about the time I joined the forum and a month later my mem card died. Got me a replacement mem card and here I am at 89.00% complete. Phew :D

Just try all the above methods people have suggested and if they dont work, just start again. Unless your a perfectionist you may have missed a few things out or you can do things slightly differently than you did the first time, well you can say that your save will be more refined than your first one.

I have a regular ps2 mem card, and i shut the ps2 off the night before after i had saved, but i was still in the mem card screen... should i not have done that?

Well, my other game (tokyo xtreme racer zero) reads its save fine so i know its not the slot or the mem card... so i dunno..

Nah, you should be fine. As long as it's not in the actual process of saving (when you see the little progress bar running across the screen) you should be fine.

From what I gather (I think I read this somewhere, or dreamt it...) when the PS(2) saves, it actually removes the entire saved data off the card and then replaces it with new. If you turn the power off during this process, you can catch it at the point where it has removed the data, but not yet restored it to the card.

The reason why your saved files get corrupted is because someone tampered some games to make them glitched or your PS2 is damaged.

yah, what u did is fine. u just shouldnt turn off the ps2 while it is in the process of saving. it usually says on the screen (while its saving) "dont turn the ps2 off..."

i always stick with the official sony ps2 memory cards. the 3rd party brands give u trouble.

ive heard that all memory cards wear out over time and use. if u keep saving and overwriting and saving etc, u will eventually wear it out. they sony ones last a long long time, though (years).

Heh, well then i have no idea what happened.. I can get my other games to load saves off the mem card just fine so i know its not the card or slot. Looks like im just screwed :(

You said GT3 was BORING! How did you get 100% so freaking quickly?

Who are you talking about?

Why are you so fed up? Many people restart anyway... If my data got lost, I would almost be kinda happy to have a clean start. :D

u said that in the GSTRA.

Haha, so i did.. but i never said i 100%'ed it.

Get a gameshark, and "Cheat the Hell out of It", to get back to where you were. GT3's races are too long and boring for nothing. At least the first two levels. Plus you can GS in your Diablo and other fine cars not otherwise(sharkport excepted).

Were you using GS when your corruption happened? My GT2 has corrupted a few times and believe you me, it's not for lack of "trying", (to do wacky things with the GS). I think it could be one problem but is not limited to "cheat devices".

I have a "corrupted data" on my GT3 mem card I cannot delete. I need help, and "NO", my beloved GS can't do a thing about it.
