Guys and gals, I've come across something that I cant get past.

When I'm playing Dream Car Championship, after the first two races (after the laguna seca race), after the replay has past and I get the opportunity to save etc, I click the NEXT button to move on to the next round, and the game freazes!
The black screen comes on with the blinking white square at the top right corner....It stays this way for ever. I've left it like this for 10 mins and still the same :odd:

Have any of you experienced anything similar and what can be done.

Could it be due to how I won the C-West silvia? I saved on the last round and spent ages loading and quiting and loading and quiting until I got the C-west Silvia. Then I went in the Dream Car Championship and this happened. I turned it off and the next day the same thing happened! :banghead: :banghead:

Can any one help me

Cheers

I'd guess it's scratched in one specific place... :D

never had this sort of problem this way before, the only time my game has froze is when im doing the wheelie trick i my hybrid zonda...

check ya disk dude, or failing that take a hammer to youre PS2, whatever is easiest

Nah the disc isnt scratched hardely at all....Just the usual small marks. The disc is like 4 weeks old (as is the PS2) and has been in the player 90% of the time :odd:

Its not 100% though. I just had a look at it but it should be fine. Its just got a few light scratches here and there.....

I really want the LM RX-7 :banghead:

I might borrow a friends GT3 which is less cratched and see if it does the same thing....(or swap the dics secretly lol j/k).

Got damn it...

yeah swap 'em, he'll never know the difference, just dont drive down the road and swap mine over with yours;)

and welcome to

lol..Bollocks#999, ballarat is a bit more a trip than down the road....

But I'm still pissed off at this. It was real competative racing on the first two races and this happens.....
****!

Never had that problem, don't really know what to tell you to do. It definitely not the Silvia thing . . . I sat for like an hour one time trying to see all the different colors of the FTO LM Race Car.

I know, only takes my an hour or so to get to Melbourne, faster if there were no revenue raisers around ;)

speakin of which, I get my licence back tomorrow

Yeah, since it's happening at a specific point, I'm with Famine. Maybe a little bit of "warm liquid goo" got stuck on it, or one little scratch in just the wrong place. Polish it gently with a soft cloth and see if that helps.

Good luck, and a hearty "up over" welcome to GT Planet.

Yeah thanks for the warm welcomes guys. I've just got to the CD with tissue and window cleaner. Hopefully it'll work. I really cant see and big scratches though :odd:

Getting your license back? What did you do.. drive a getaway car for some ppl and got busted? Hehe  Hope its nothing too serious.

Oh yeah and welcome to GTP XPLOSV :)
Hope you get ur problem solved.

Na got pinged for speeding, 89km/h in a 60 zone, even got the photo

I'm on the wrong side of the road (racing line), passing a left turning car, ah well do the crime do the time
I was caught doing the wrong thing so tough... I'll wear it

you are not wrong there mate 👍

in case no one got what i said before:
Revenue raisers=Speed cameras

SWEET!!!!!!!!

I've fixed the problem. Just used a tissue and window cleaner and it worked. now I'm the proud new owner of an LM spec RX-7 in dark grey....

Cheers guys for the ideas.

Yeah speed cameras suck here in melb. You get unmarked cop cars on the road with hand held speed camers but these are soo easy to spot its not funny. I've had many many a time where I'd have to slow down hard before one of these. Its those hidden speed cameras that suck. Looking innocently like a traffic camera or hidden behind a traffic direction board or something. 🤬 🤬 🤬 🤬

Havent been done by one yet but its only a matter of time for anyone really....

"Warm liquid goo" phase, complete. :D

Try vacuuming out your PS2, clean the lense and the disk. It happened to me once and I cleaned everything off and it was fine.

Yeah if it happens again I'll chuck in my laser disc cleaner thing. But the thing is my ps2 is like 4 weeks old....

And its not really in a dusty area or anything....oh well. Such is technology

Myn sits on the floor (cork floors here) and it gets a tiny bit of dust on the back (near the fan thing) so I just wipe a damp cloth there every once in a while. :)

Have never pulled apart, vacuumed wiped with a damp cloth, nothing for my PS2, and it works fine
