Gt3rs v2 or g27?

Ok, so Im thinking of upgrading my wheel, and im not sure what to get. The advantages of the g27 is everything comes in one package, and the pedals are good. You can also change your wheel which is cool.
The advantages of the gt3rs v2 is its belt driven, has a big steering wheel.
But the thing about the gt3rs is it wont fit to my wheelstand pro. I also heard the g27 wont fit the dfgt stand but i can weld/rivit a bigger plate to the one thats on it. And i dont want to go and buy the rennsport wheel stand.
Also keep in mind i wont be getting the clubsport pedals, because there too expensive, and im not comitted enough to gaming to buy them. And i heard the standard pedals are kind of crappy.
I need some feedback and anything will be appreciated. :)
 
There's a fair bit of info that should help you in this forum, but one thing I can confirm is that the DFGT and the G27 have very similar footprints. If you check out my rig on the link in the footer, you'll see I custom built it for DFGT, but was able to fit a G27 to it without any problem.

I know but the clamps are further apart on the g27

Well,

The GT3 RS v2 can be mounted on a WSP. You just got to get a bit handy.
I adapted a WSP for a G25 to fit a GT3/CSP combo. Just needed a few tyraps and 2 pieces of L-profile being cut to lenght. And used the template delivered with the GT3 to dril some holes in the WSP g25 mounting plate.
Put it all together and yhe Fanatec set up is as sturdy as the G25 setup mounted on the WSP. I'm happy with it for sure.

I say go with the GT3 RS as it gives you the option to upgrade later on to the Clubsport pedals which are just awesome. There's also a Clubsport shifter coming (probably later this year) so that could well be an excellent add-on too.
 
I had a g27 switched to gt3 rs v2 loved it!

both are great wheels tough , but for me the gt3 rs v2 feels much better

edit. the g27 annoyed me when rallying , that wheel is loud on other surfaces than tarmac

I dont rally too much.
But theres a HUGE waiting list for the gt3rs and none in ireland (their all over ebay) and tbe customer support for the fanatecs kind of put me off
 
I can say that you will surely be satisfied no matter which one you pick. That said, in my opinion GT3 feels more realistic in contrast to Logitech's somewhat artificial feeling FFB. It is also a pleasure to hold the GT3 because it has thicker wheel rim and softer surface. That makes a lot of difference - especially if you plan to race a lot. I found myself holding my G25 too much with my thumbs simply because the rim is too thin to hold it really well with my whole hands.
Too bad that Clubsport editions are not available at the moment, buying everything in one package is a big plus for G27. Also Logitechs have a better mounting mechanism, but since you will be hard-mounting your wheel to the wheel stand, this probably isn't that important.

I just recently discovered that Logitech distributor/repair service in my country sells new G25 pedals (as replacement part if your old ones break and you are out of warranty) for only 30€, which is a really good price. You just tell them yours broke and that you would like to purchase new ones. It might not be a bad idea to buy a GT3 with an adapter + G25 pedals and if you find yourself racing a lot, you can always upgrade to Clubsport pedals at a later time. Also you may want the Clubsport shifter when it comes out :)

BTW: If what the webshop says is true, that is not exactly a huge waiting list:

I just went through the same decision process and here is how i was thinking.

First, you get what you pay for. A Fanatec Carrera with std pedals is cheapest followed by the G27 and then the Fanatec GT3+CSP. As you go up the price ladder each wheel/pedals is increasingly better. Each an excellent product for what you pay for.

Personally I don't think GT3+std pedals makes sense. Price is similar to the G27. The G27 offers equally good wheel/pedals but with the GT3/std pedals you get a better wheel than the G27 but less good pedals. For me, the pedals are as important as the wheel and I think its important that each component is on the same level. Its like buying a porsche with a VW engine or a VW Golf with a Porsche engine. I don't buy the upgrade to CSP later argument as you then ending up paying too much for your wheel totally.

Comparing Logitech and Fanatic, I think Fanatic gives you more bang for the buck but is a little riskier buy from a quality/support point of view.

As stated before, whatever you buy you will have a lot of fun with it.

you are thinking of GT2 , i believe that there is no wait for gt3rsv2
 
I kind of want the gt3rs but it doesnt have the same reliability as the g27. Ill mostly be drifting so good pedals and shifter might help (not saying im bad, ive won tournaments). But when drifting reliability is a big factor because some wheels overheat. My dfgt is starting to strugle and ive only had it a year. I was thinking and i mentioned it before, could you put an rc motor in a dfgt?

I guess a decent rig would be better for your purpose , which is mainly drifting.
But for me this solution makes it allright. Still foldable, but when setup,it's solid enough for me to enjoy racing.

Thanks man.
I would build a rig but i have nowhere to keep it, so i have to stick with it.
Besides, the WSP never really moves on me.
Im really just looking for the cheapest option. I want decent pedals, a shifter, so i tried to get a number on the gt3rs, amd ends up about EUR50 cheaper. So i might go with g27, and maybe get a proper wheel to put on the g27.
