Everyone, this is a sort of a long post, but please help me!

I got myself a GT3RSv2 CSP Edition and the first wheel came with the pedals' PS/2 port not working. I got my replacement (on time and with great service by customer agent Johannes btw) and everything was fine until yesterday when playing F1:2011 on my PS3. It kept saying "Controller Disconnected", but the red dot was still lit, so it ain't a power issue. Tried changing USB ports and even the game to GT5, but the issue still remains. My wheel seems to disconnect from the PS3 every now and then, only to kick itself alive again after a couple of seconds. Needless to say that has been quite a nuisance, especially when trying to complete Formula GT World Championship.

I already e-mailed Fanatec but I remain skeptical that they will help me for one thing: I live in Brazil, and Fanatec doesn't ship anything here.

When researching for which wheel to buy (I was between the T500RS and the GT3RS back then), I was inclined to buy the GT3RS due to its compatibility and adjustability, as I own a G25 and have many games I still play from time to time that wouldn't work with the T500RS. Knowing Fanatec ain't a big company as Logitech or Thrustmaster (what name is this anyways? :D ) I wrote their webshop a HUGE e-mail prior to my purchase asking if all the horror stories on the web were true, if the warranty would still be valid in Brazil and all that, because I had the sort of unique opportunity to buy a new wheel as I was then going to the United States for work and I needed to make sure my hard earned money would be safe in case something happened to my wheel (as it did before. My G25 was supposed to be a DFGT. Bought it in the USA, brought it to Brazil: dead. Then Logitech sent me another one to Brazil, also dead. They then decided to send me a G25 as an apology for two broken wheels in a row, all expenses paid by them to FRICKEN BRAZIL! Almost USD150 in taxes)

The answer I got from Fanatec was, and I quote:

"all the goods are on stock now.

The Problems are solved. You should not have problems with the goods.

Warranty on all products is two years.

Mit freundlichen Grüßen

Best regards

Fanatec_Gameshop"

Since they didn't say the warranty was void in Brazil, when I clearly asked that in the e-mail, I assumed it is indeed valid and ended up getting the wheel. Now I'm stuck with an orange alcantara-wrapped paper weight (the issue is so intermittent it's better not to play until I figure out how to fix it) and awaiting Fanatec's answer.

Long story short, did anyone in here ever faced a similar issue? If so, how did you solve it?

Thanks in advance for the patience!

I read your post and I feel for you.
I own the same set (GT3 RS/CSP) and I don't have any problems.
Hm...my guess on the problem is faulty assembly of the output port (USB) to the motherboard.
If that's the case then it's a relatively easy fix.

Fanatec's warranty policy is like this:
You send them a support e-mail to their web-adress with the detailed explanation & a video of the problem and Fanatec will tell you what you should to in order to fix it or they'll ship you a new unit.
Just e-mail them and wait for their response, also - double-check every connection and try the wheel on the PC too, just to make sure the problem is/isn't PS3 related.

Yeah, I had to replace my first wheel..,

I sent them an e-mail sunday morning, but I'm still waiting for an answer.

Meanwhile, I'll hook my PC to my TV tonight and will post results.

Weird...me and my brother played GT5 for almost 1 hour straight with no issues, with one difference: we both were wearing socks this time. I always play barefoot. I heard this issue I had can be linked to static electricity. Maybe that did the trick? Yet to test PC though.

That's it. Static electricity.

I played for a bit with the PC, socks on, nothing happened. I wonder if I'll only be able to play like this from now on...

On the downside, Fanatec still didn't reply my e-mail. Last time it was super quick, always with overnight responses. I wonder if they had a long holiday in Germany because of the wonderful Oktoberfest.
