Just got back from the AGS here in HK... needless today, GT4 had the biggest display... a bunch of units were set up for regular game-play, while another bunch was up for the photomode... the 'demos' they had set up were infact (according to the guy there) the final version, except with a time limit counter (150 secs)... it included 700+ cars (all unlocked including the Nike and the Formula car), as well as (I'm assuming) all the tracks... despite my limited time there, I did get to test out the "Polyphony Formula" car on Suzuka... simply stunning... the sense of speed was much more evident this time (in 7th gear)... plus there was also a new cockpit-view (where you see the nosecone and the 2 front wheels)... there was also a greater amount of detail on the formula cars this time... something else I also noticed was that there was backfire froming the exhausts of the formula cars as well as the rally cars, which I guess is another confirmation that backfire will be included in GT4... as for the tracks, something I noticed was Tsukuba (Wet)... El Capitan also looked great...

Ohh, 7th gear! Anything interesting regarding new cars and tracks? I'm assuming you didn't get much time to look into it, as it is with these Gaming Salons usually...

Tracks... well they were divded into 4 cats... city, real, rally/snow and fantasy... I spent my time in the real tracks section, which included Tsubuka, Suzuka, Motegi, Fuji, nurburgring, infineon, laguna seca... tsubuka had normal and wet, while suzuka included a variation of tracks... normal, east and wet... motegi also included east, west, road and ring... I know much of this has already been confirmed, but it was the first time I actually got to see these tracks so it was still pretty cool...

Was there only one F1 car, or were there a few to select from? If so what were their names, or was it merely listed as "Polyphony Formula"?

Under the car-selection page, it was separated by car manufacturers... towards the far right of that page are the 'special' cars... Nike, Mine's, Nismo, Mugen, etc... and at the very end its the polyphony logo... in there they only have one car and thats the Formula Polyphony car... sad to say, there was only one model available... in an assortment of colors...

Great........just great....only one F1 car...how awful is that I give KY a bad review on that one......for only one F1.......I'd say might as well there shouldn't be any F1's.......sad to say......but oh well still wouldn't mind driving that F1.......but now that you mentioned...are you sure it was backfire from the Rally Cars....or Misfire or w.e it's called......

Backfire/misfire... lets just say I saw flames from the exhaust when they down and upshiffted... and oh, in relation to another thread, they didn't give out any GT4 demo discs...

Oh yea and about that so called Demo being the final version is just not believable, well atleast to me doubt that KY will just let all this project go away like that in a pathetic Demo........don't recall him being so generous......anyways I personally dont think that is the final version.....just too hard to believe he has to leave some stuff for the imagination right??????? :sly:

thx sinner for all these info
great job!
I kept checking out some hk forums ....
nobody posting any info

if you are going to AGS again in this weekend
can you look up the fantasy and city tracks?
and let us know if you discover any new tracks there
hopefully lemans will have different name like monaco

Sinner, can you think of any other vehicles that GT-Planet was unaware of?

I have to agree PD should stop making demos
they should spend time on their final products like GT4 online and PSP
btw ... from official AGS website ... it said they invited KY to the show this year

Three questions, one already posted:

1. Le Mans?
2. Hood view?
3. Bugatti carz?

So did all the cars in the field backfire? What new cars and car makers did you see and how are the visuals coming alone and what tracks were in the demo?

I am very glad there was only one forlmula one car, instead of 20. That means there is more other interesting cars. :) Would hate if 20 of 700 cars was in fact the same car with different colours. I know there is to many similar cars already.

I just asked a friend of mine to go with a camera but she can't go until sunday. There will probably be loads of pictures on some HK website/forum by then.

dunno if I'm gonna go again.. but I'll see what I can do... I know there are a few other fellow HKers on here hopefully they can provide some media... I don't have the proper equipment...

regarding some of the previous questions... I did notice some LeMans cars... like the bentley one (for got the name)... also noticed a hoodview... I saw this view on the regular cars as well as on the formula car...

Just one Formula 1 cars sounds find to me. I used only a few in GT3 anyway. Plus, this game is about GT cars and the like. One will be just fine.

Did they have the 64 Cobra (Daytona) Coupe Race Car? Sorry for asking.

some about F1 and NIKE ONE............
F1 904ps 550kg........@@ if play single race,quick tune can go to 942ps,452kg......
this F1 i think is base on Mclxxxxn F1 '04...........
NIKE ONE 259ps 700kg.............

and try the photo mode.........print out one photo(4R)...need 2-3mins,but really very beastful.......

and try Ford one old car (make at yr1915)(forgot wt name).......top speed is 88km/h by two speed gear box.............

Hey Sinner and Tony, thank you for your effort in reporting. Some cameras on mobiles, and some photos respectfully? :)

Still one question about the hood view: is it form the roof (as seen in replays in recent demos) or is it from the river's perspective?

haha... looks like I'll have to shell out another $25 to get in for another test run and more info...

the hood view... if memory serves... I think it was from the roof...

do they have steering wheels provided for "reaslistic gameplay"?
if yes, then I would be tempted to go and have a look :)

they have a bunch with just the dualshocks... a bunch with the sparco-racing seat GT Force Pro setup... and 2 big 'motion' units..

First I thought this car was not truly inspired in real F1 cars, as I remembered that the weight of a Formula One car must not be less than 605kg during the qualifying practice session and no less than 600kg at all other times during the weekend.

But those figures include the weight of the driver, so this PD guys have done it again... realistic data; I also expect realistic physics for these cars (they handle a bit strange and unrealistic in gt3)

can anybody see if the new BMW 6 seires is in (maybe M6 or 645ci ) ,or even the E36 M3 ,and maybe some other BMWs pleassssssssssse.:bowdown::bowdown::bowdown::bowdown::)
