GT4 and Wireless controllers

Do you use a wireless controller for GT4? If you are happy with how it plays GT4, could you please recommend it?

I ask because I use a Pelikan Predator II and although it is the best I could find (similar to Logitech), I have not found ANY that are good enough for driving.

Key features needed:

- Wireless
- Shape and size (preferably comfortable and a bit bigger than PS2's - Pelikan is very comfortable).
- Proper feel and sensitivity (PS2 original wired controller is best I found for this).
- Separate buttons for up/down/left/right. Rocker pads are a nightmare for B-spec.
- High quality spring in X button. Because racing games collapse most X-button springs in as little as a month (it did on my Pelikan, twice).

If nobody can recommend a wireless controller that meets the "driving criteria", perhaps a controller manufacturer will notice and make a GT4 controller (Logitech hint, hint... time to wake up and smell the opportunity). Such a controller "optimized for driving" would make all driving games much more pleasant for all of us that can't/won't spend the money on a wheel + chair setup.

I have a bad history with wireless controllers and I basically built a prejudice against them. Even though I'm sure technology has changed since the last time I bought a wireless controller (long time ago), I like my DS2 fine

proper controllers shouldnt have springs under the buttons. the DS2 just has the rubber pad to hold it up, and it works just fine.

I use a cheap wireless controller, I bought 2 at Best Buy for $30 CDN, they work well enough for me. I haven't had any problems with them.

Dont get a logitech one. As they do not have the same pressure sensative buttons that the DS2 has. I made that mistake. Overall though it is a quality wireless controller. So it would be fine for other games.

👍 the logitech one is definately the best one. The buttons are'nt pressure sensative so you dont have to press the buttons as hard as the normal PS2

Gotta have that throttle control. Im currently looking for a cordless controller, as the cords give mt the s#its, clumsy mates always trippin over them. If the DS2 uses a rubber base under the buttons, shouldnt companies follow the lead by the actual manufacturer of the best quality controllers, and do the same?

I share your frustration with the leads across the floor (fyi I put a rug over the leads to stop the children from tripping/kicking them). I have a logitech on order and will try it but I'm a stick rather than button man, so maybe that will help. Of course at worse the Logitech will not get used for GT4 but on other games.

Stven

I've got the Logitech Cordless Action Controller. It's an excellent cordless controller (better than the DS2, even if it wasn't wireless), but as far as GT4 goes you really must play it with the DFP. Really.

With the Pelican (aka cheap logitech) in addition to the accelerator button going mush, the other big problem (for B-spec mostly) is the up/dn/left/right rocker pad.

When you don't have individual buttons you unintentionally push up/dn when you want to push l/r.

This is another bad feature that all vendors seem to share except the DS2. I wonder if Sony patented the rubber pad and the individual buttons somehow? It does not seem patentable to me - it's just common sense - but with good lawyers anything is possible.

Im using the Nyko Multiplayer wireless kit.

Good on batteries, great range and is the standard 2.4 GHz signal strength.Pretty nice controllers. They have great responsiveness but the only think you wont like is that it has a rocker pad (which isnt that big of a deal IMO anyways).
