As gamefront.de is reporting, Sony could release a special release of GT4 for BMW, exclusive for German market. As source is saying, and after some digging the Internet from myself, news comes from very intresting source - USK company, japanese company for software checking or something - didn't quite understand it, cause usk site (www.usk.co.jp) site is on japanese.

Still, maybe is some other USK company involved, but similarty is just too big.

Here is the full news, as translated via famous Babelfish tool:

" Gran Turismo 4 BMWS demo in Germany? 16.06.04 - The USK (maintenance software self-check) examined demo the Gran Turismo 4 BMWS von Sony after current age releases for Germany also. Apparent Sony in Germany plans to bring a demo version out of Gran Turismo 4, in which excluding cars of the mark BMWS are present. There were similar actions already in Japan, where div. Autohouses such demos got. Where that will be available demo and/or where it is used, is still unclear. Release: TBA. "

As seen on E3, BMW has finally hosted decent amount of cars for GT series. Speculating now, yes, but if BMW has decided to make a special GT product with their cars for German market, it can mean only Nurbergring IMHO, and loads of history models and models currently in production that we're all familiar with.

If so, BMW's site can expect a huge order-attack in short time as I can presume:).

German Only... I wonder if that will be playable in the UK... I reckon it will... Euro edition is PAL isn't it?

Hmmm... Sneak preview of Nur with an M5.... Saweet!!

I belive so - my pal version of GT4P has the option to change languages english/german/french/spanish/esperanto etc

Righto... Any german people (or people in Germany) on the board fancy popping down to their local BMW dealer and picking up a few copies?

I suspect that you could sell them on Ebay for a hefty whack if you wanted to make some money?!

Good thing we are somewhat of regular customers are different BMW dealerships in my area.

w00t! I'm soooooo going to rob them of their copies!

Is the Toyota version given out free?

I know from reading an article on, ithink, this site that one of the reasons that GT4 has been delayed is that they have had to produce 10 'customer' versions for the manufactures - so maybe we will see a BMW version?

No way... I'll buy a copy off of you?

How much will it cost to send to the UK from Germany?

The amount of special versions of GT4 PD are making, are they even working on the final product anymore?

You know what... I'm starting to think they really are just waiting till November now.

Maybe because the only thing they are doing now is adding cars and working out the online side which might leave half the team free to work on new stuff. This whole November licence thing is looking better and better all the time. But I'm STILL not keeping my hopes very high.

They are putting all their efforts into the "Prius 24hr Test Track Fuel-Economy Challange" - that we'll need to pass to get the final 'A' licence - the one that lets us use all the good cars on the good tracks.

;)

And the US is always grabbing its ankles as rear-end pressure increases from SCE for never getting any GT game that doesnt end with a number.

Hello there, Croatian buddy. With you here, I hope that Croatia will do well in their UEFA match against France that's on as of the date and time of this post. Now if you ask me, BMWs are very balanced machines. BMWs have luxury, but at the same time, impressive capabilities. When I tuned a 328i in GT2, the car handled very well, and I didn't get episodes of periodic oversteer. To me, a BMW Edition would be a wonderful edition over the Toyotas. And I mean, Toyota (not to go off-topic) could have at least put in their Supra, or even their JGTC rides in both GT300 and GT500. A BMW version would be VERY nice. Just hope there's no time limit, and has every course other than Nurburgring Nords.

i'd like to see the current 3 series diesel touring with the 3 litre engine, becaue i am just doing my license on that one. it has got about 200hp, quite a nice feeling for a beginner to let them free. :D

Hopefully some of these other 8 customer versions will be for U.S. makes...

I'm getting seriously pissed at SCEA for not giving us more GT goodness...

It is possible that BMW AG may wish to distribute some to the American dealers to give to owner's circle members, if so that would be awsome for me :)

PD probably viewed this release as a distraction from the actual work of GT4. This doesn't help them in any way, it's not a beta to test their builds, it's just something they threw together to satisfy the request of a right holder whose cars they use in the game.

If you Americans are going to get such a demo version it's going to be some Corvettes around Laguna Seca or maybe NY.
