OK OK I am sure I will get dogged for this but I have searched the forums for a while and am giving up! Does anyone know for sure what the minimum connection speed is going to be for GT4?
Im sure its broadband but there are many types of broadband from what I gather. Question #2.... Will we have to pay a monthly fee to race Gt4 online? The details are being kept a secret I guess. Thanks

i kind of doubt that there will be a fee to play online seeing that we already pay for our own broadband connection, and also seeing that you actually bought the game to play online, i doubt you will need to pay, but hey i can always be wrong ^_^

ehh...i hope they don't make us pay...like XBOX does. Lets hope they keep it free like EA sports games does.

Yea true you buy the game and just like XBOX LIVE you have to pay for it.. stupid to me but oh well... I hope you dont have to but for SOCOM you dont have to and thats a "Sony" product am I correct and since GT4 is a "Sony" product I kind doubt it but hey you never know.. Yes I highly doubt you be able to use dial up so yes its only broadband, true theres diffrent types but its all broadband so i guess anyone would be fine, But we havent have any solid proof on any of this so this is all just my opinion...

Ok, GT4 will probably be like MC2. most of the game is off line, unlike everquest. the purchase cost of everquest is like 9.99, suspicious now are we? you have to pay like 20.00 bucks amonth because its all online. Now for connection speed, PD will probably be nice and let both dial up and DNS availible

why dial up it will slow down the whole racing experience.. all games coming out now are all Broadband seeing how many people dont like others with dial up which slows dwn there gaming experience.. Im not saying im right your wrong but I doubt they'll let people with dial up go online with a racing game at that, its about going fast with broadband not slow with dial up....

because you still have the people that are to lazy to get DNS, pluss unless you have a router, you can only have one thing connected at a time.

It won't support dial up connections, so if you don't have broadband, get it. Min conection from what I understand is 128.

Yes, but routers are cheap.

Whats the meaning in playing a laggy game? No, no no, i pray to god that there wont be any 56K-ers. More players, yeah but, i seriously doubt that they will be able to play without huge pings and or high D-sync.

I believe Polyphony will want a lot of players in their GT Online community, so it would only be safe for them to adopt a broadband only connection and that you pay for the game & your internet connection to the ISP and thats all, because they really want this to work for thew, because they are up against PGR2 and its XBOX LIVE Longevity. :trouble:
