Give it a shot, see what you think. It's slightly complicated so I've included some not-very-good instructions. If you have any questions I'll try to run you through the process with an example. Any suggestions are welcome.

Wow, this seems to be a really remarkable spreadsheet. I'll have to try this when I get home, would love to hear others' opinions.

EDIT: Presumably we should delete most of the numbers and save as a read-only template document?

Correct, I included some default vehicle info to make it easier to understand. Do not delete the default entries under "Advanced User Control", however. It will not work if any of these figures are missing.
