This is kinda a weird question, but I was wondering if anyone knew how they are going to work out lag issues in GT4. I know its going to be broadband playing this game on the net but even on my cable the best ping I can get is around 55 and thats on a lucky day. I assume that lag will be worked out similar to how X-Box does things but.. since... I have no idea how they do that I was wondering if someone would care to explain ^^. I'm an avid drifter and plan to start tandem drifting so accuracy in car positioning is kinda important for me =p Sooo... any ideas? ^^

On this kind of issue...

I nearly bought the ethernet network connection for the PS2 at the weekend, in anticipation of GT4 arriving, but on reading the packaging wasn't too sure how it exactly wanted to be connected.

I run a LAN in my home connected to my ISP via a 1mb/s adsl connection. All my machines are connected via ethernet 100/1000 cards and through a router hub.

Question is... Will the PS2 ethernet box connect directly via Cat5 cable to my router hub and therefore be connected to my 1mb/s adsl connection.. ?? Or do you have to setup a separate ISP account specific to PS2's.. ?? I don't fancy paying anymore than I already pay for my 1mb/s connection.. !!

I have two computers hooked up to my DSL line with a 4 port router and all I did was take 2 old cables(I'm guessing cat 5)that looked like they were damaged a little, then cut 1 plug off each one and wired them together and put it from my ps2 to my router and works perfect. Only thing I had problems with was trying to enter my account name on the ps2 setup cd until I realised it was already entered in my router. So you should be able to plug it in and get it going in minutes. No you don't have to pay more either. But I have heard of some ISP's not supports PS2 network adapters so if you have problems, call your ISP.

Let's just leave this over to the people of PD and sony....why would we try to figure it out i we can't can't do **** about it.
