GT4 Mission Hall: Skyline GTR @ Test Course

Anyone conquered this yet?

I can get within 1.9xx of the leader at the finish and have tried a few differing methods, like slingshot drafting (NASCAR style) and selecting another car to push (freighttrain style) but have only ever ended up coming 2nd.

Any clues?
 
Probably your gear ratios are set either too low or too high, a problem i had on the test course in GT3. Try raising/lowing the ratios a little to see if either helps.

Drafting's good, can't you just draft the guy in first place?

The guy who is running in 1st place starts the lap some 12 seconds in front, so that kind of makes drafting him a little hard.

You're onto it man.


It is obviously a technique requirement for this test, not a setup or gearing adjustment. If the setup could be change I'd be switching off the TCS at every opportunity.

I don't own the game SO i didn't know that you can't adjust car settings and i didn't know that the guy in first place starts ahead. Gimme a break i was just trying to help. Maybe i should've just posted what i orginally was going to which was:

"Learn to drive properly, stop making rubbish threads."

*Click* would be great.
 
You need to let the other cars draft you too. You leapfrog each other to get a higher overall speed as a group. So don't go too fast and leave the other cars behind.

Thanks very much for your input donbenni, but it was obvious from your initial reply that you did not have the game or any valid suggestion. Your post is the one that should be deleted as it is worthless and your main goal here only appears to be increasing your post count.

I'm sure when you get the game you will breeze through it with unbridled ease. Have a nice day.

Thanks bemani, that is what I have been trying since posting this request and I am getting closer, and a lot better at driving in my mirrors.
 
Those 'slip stream' tests are not too hard. But the '1 lap magic' tests piss me off. Why do they make you sit there for a minute and a half ... just put the damn cars on the track and count down from 3 already. I'm very impatient :P

I only did the first one, the 2nd one (#26) made me very mad.
 
The most vital part is the last corner in the last lap, you have to make sure your car's speed exceeds 275km/h(or even higher) at the end of the straight and takes the shortest path in the corner. When you spot the first car, you can go up the bank and chase it.
