Hi all gt4 fans,

I have done a long thread before on the build of my gt4-racingseat, and I have seen some japanese guys hooking up three tv's in a network of three playstations, resulting in an amazing viewing angle of almost 180 degrees.

Looks amazing, I am wondering if anybody have had experiences with multiple sceens-setups?

I think that a lot of people would like to hear other peoples experiences with these extended setups.

Best regards,
Jesper

At the Montreal autoshow this year (canada) I played the GT4 Subaru edition (Tsukuba track with Subaru models only!) on a special display with three screen and an Hydraulic lift plateform... It was in demo on the SUBARU stand...
That was a GREAT experience!!! :dopey:
It was like THE top cockpit simulator...
I
would like to know too how to do a three screens setting...
...to play with my "Miata seat cockpit - DFP - separate Manual gearshift - separate reverse button - separate handbrake" (pics soon)....

Its not mine, got that from ITMedia website 3 months ago (jp gamespot site)
3 widesreen tv setup

There is a lot of information missing to be understandable for me.

do I need three PS2?
with PS2 internet modem?
What about the connections?
crossover cables?

Thanks for the link anyway...it is a good beginning!

you need 3 ps2 w broadband adapters, 3 tvs, router/hub/switch, 3 cat 5

connect all the ps2 to the router and then set it up in gt4 lan settings

thats for the 3 tv setup. it will work with even 2 tvs even though it will feel unbalanced.

Thanx for comments guys,

Now the tricky question (even more, cause it seems that nobody who has written until now, has actually tried it... or am I wrong):

Does this multiscreen setup (i know that you need a ps2 and a game for each tv) work outside arcade lan mode?
I mean.... does it also work in granturismo mode??? that would be cool for me personally, considering my upcoming project...

The 18 of june at precisely four o clock, me and three friends will take stints of approx.24 minutes each during the real le mans 24 hours race, so that we can compare and also watch the real deal side by side. insane? not really... I think... hehehehe..... :)

Well.... the Q: does multiscreensetup work in gt mode (for use with my upcoming 24 hours enduro)?

Thanx,
Jesper

I've seen the multiple screen thing and I'm sure that setting it up has to do with linking multiple ps2's that seems to be the only apparent method. I imagine its just a firewire linkage, but I'm not sure how the games were synchronized to perform like that. I would think it would be impossible without some type of extra device. I can understand how someone would set up three different views but the side-angled views are a mystery to me.

does anyone have a picture of someone using 6 widescreen tvs. that would be ultimate. or maybe 6 widescreen tvs for the live view and 4 widrescreen tv's for monitor view.

Doing the Le Mans race side by side the real race is an insanely awesome idea and I believe I will try to do the same with a buddy of mine. Thanks for the thought! :D

What means 3 cat 5?

ok the triple monitor thing only works in lan mode.

Just to confirm.... so you CANNOT play gt mode with multiple screens?
Have you tried hooking three ps2's up in lan setup, and then going into gt mode, and trying to do a race, and see if the other two ps2's do their job as soon as the race begins?

yeah i tried it. besides that, the LAN settings are under the Arcade Catergory in the options screen. so im pretty sure LAN will not work in gt mode.

I dont even see why it would be all that great with those HUGE seams. It's like an exaggerated blind spot.

Money to be put to better use IMO.
