Kaapelitehtaalla torstaina 9.10.2003 olleilla Playstation kauppiaspäivillä selvisi viimein Gran Turismo 4:n todellinen julkaisuajankohta. Peli siirtyy ensi kesään.

Playstationin maahantuojan Nordisk Filmin edustajan mukaan peli on jo valmis, mutta peliä kehittävä tiimi ei halua sen näyttävän GT3:lta, joten peliä hiotaan vielä tovi :). Jäämme odottamaan mielenkiinnolla.

Rough TRANSLATION:

GT4 will be pushed in to summer 2004. The game is basically ready, but PD doesn't want the game to look like GT3 so PD is working on the graphics and details...
 
That makes sense but imo gt3 looks way better than gt4, but whatever it takes to make gt4 perfect, I'll wait.
 
Just a hint, change the second GT4 into a GT3 and your post will be correct.
 
dammit.. atleast they could release prologue world wide while we wait.
 
Even if GT4 did look like GT3 i can really care less because i think GT3 looked great all GT4 needed were more cars, more modes such as onlione, more and better AI and customization, The graphics I could care less for since like i said there not that important but GT3 looked great anyways but oh well if we gotta wait then we gotta wait but once again there focusing more on graphics rather than fixing more important things than that...

Yeah I agree, GT3 had the best graphics as far as PS2 games go, I just want more cars, more tracks, more races, better AI all that stuff for GT4 even if it does still look like GT3. But if PD can make it better than let it be delayed. Just one question are you talking Summer 2004 in America or Europe?
 
id be happy if it has the same graphic engine as GTC which was slightly improved on over GT3.
 
Oh yes how could I forget GTC, it did look a lot better than GT3 so imagine how good GT4 is gonna look if it already looks better and PD are still spending time making the graphics look even better. Some how I think we are in for a treat from PD:)
 
Well you all have good points. But gt3's graphics are dated, the tracks after awhile don't look amazing; the car models still inpress me and they are the best car models ever. Gt3 indeed is still the most realistic looking racer out but still, it looks dated in this time and day. GT4 looks alot more realistic, the cars look more realistic and that adds to the gameplay imo.
 
You know what I have to agree with cobragt here, I feel that the graphics in GT3 look dated now, not so much whith the cars, although in GTC they were better but the trackside scenery isn't as good as it once seemed. GT3 is the best looking racer on the PS2, and probably every console, PC racers can look better depending your PC's spec but try playing a racing game with a keyboard and mouse, and I'm certainley not going to buy two wheels, one for the PS2 and one the PC.
 
Yep, I agree with both of you. Though IMO one of the best all time racers is Grand Prix Legends for the pc. It's impossible to play on keyboard, but when you play it with a wheel IMO it's got the best racing physics engine out there and with top sepck graphics it looks phenominal if not a little dated.
 
Absolute rubbish!

The Prologue is Quoted by KY himself to feature the final graphics engine, They have been modelling all the cars and tracks for ages, we have seen many many examples of it.
The Graphics are already leagues ahead of GT3.
They should be, they have been working on this title for 2-3 years.

So they are trying to say that the Only reason they are delaying GT4 for another 6-8 months! is to keep on working the graphics.

Of Course SONY And PD arent gonna go on record in print with the true reasons for delays. They just allow us to hear BS reasons for the delays.
I Mean They Wont even give A true Valid reason for putting out the Prologue, which is truly worthless as a full title for anything other than corprate wrangling, and that is the reason you wont see it on worldwide release, because they didnt want it released, IT had to Be Released!

Sony are currently hurting big time in the financial world, 20000 job cuts loom as it has to reposition itself, as it fights off cheaper brands of electronic equipment that are making great leaps in their technolgy, Alongside Internet piracy of its music, and increasingly its film market is a major factor in Sonys problems. Sony had hoped to address the P2P sharing propblem with an online official delivery system linked to the PS2 hard drive and network adaptor, along with Court action against The P2P sites, Anyone remember who was a Major Player In the Litigation against Napster?.
Sonys vision for the future was announced by ken Kutagari (was that his name?) for a new online world of distribution of all its media, which could be moved among its Brand products, and Sony sunk in a Huge amount of Yen prior to the launch of PS2 to help take Sony Forward into the online world, yet here we are 4 years on and Sony still dont have the HDD out there and network adaptors arent exactly shifting in the 1000s (the New PSX Fits In Here also) and all this delays the progress in legal Online distribution of its content, and the future of Sony Doesnt look so rosey.
They May well need to go and look for a new strategy very Soon if They cant Get online In A big Way.

Sony Needed Big Sale Games (Think GT4) With Big Online Content to expand the network Significantly, in order that its previous investments in its back catalogue can start to compete against the illegal exchange of its content and take Sony Forward in the 21st Century.

Of Course All This Is Just IMHO
But Makes More Sense to me that the rubbish I See Posted At the beggining of this Thread.
