GT4 on GTP

Sorry if this has come up before, but I couldn't find much by searching.

OK, we all know GT4 is about be set loose on the world, but the problem is the timing. The NTSC territories are getting it long before us PAL users and I'm concerned that some users may decide to discuss the content of GT4 before it is released in PAL territories. I'd hate for the game to be spoilt for a lot of us if someone posted a thread with a title along the lines of "Track/Car/Mode X in GT4!!!!!" So I was wondering if the Mods might be able to do something about it by either banning discussion of GT4 outright until the game is relaesed in PAL areas (difficult) or setting up a separate sub-forum like the GT4:P one so that users can talk about the game without spoiling it (but spoiler-free thread titles would have to be used).

Yes, I know we can just not visit GTP, but there's bound to be a few users who do visit (me included) and I'm just trying to keep everyone's best interests at heart.
 
I seriously doubt banning discussion of the game would work. After all, with all the newbies showing up, you're bound to be bombarded with information after Dec 3rd, no matter where you go. Based on that, about the only thing to do is avoid the forums altogether. And you can't expect people to simply shut up about the game for months and months until everyone has it. That would defeat the entire purpose of the forums.
 
This has already been covered recently, but what the hell, I'll repeat myself.

If you don't want to see Spoilers, avoid the GT4 forum. Do this by minimizing the GT Forum box. Or, to be even more safe, don't come to GTP for a while. Have a break. Other than that, there's not much you can do. People are going to go crazy on that Forum noce they get the game, and Spoilers will be posted. There's no prevention. A solution doesn't help that much.

It will just need to be heavily Moderated for a while, and things would have to be edited or closed quickly. They're the only ways to help. Other than that, I can give you no other advice.
 
Can you turn avatars off? If so i might do that and continue coming to GTP and avoiding the Gran Turismo forums. People in the PAL territory who are waiting for the game might best turn off avatars too in case a secret/surprise car from the game appears in someones avatar slot.

If it gets too bad however i will just have to leave until the game is out. :(
 
Sorry, Do you race, but discussing the game and all it includes is the main point of GTPlanet. Preventing people from talking about it would completely defeat the purpose of the site. If you do not wish to see the information it would be best not to visit the site at all.

Mustang-man, you can disable avatars in your Account Options in My GTPlanet.
