I just got an HDTV a Hitachi 42". I bought the component video hookup and really like how it looks. But my question is, unless I play it all day and night, is there any need to worry about burn in? Is 3 to 4 hours a day safe? HD Plasma owners give me some feed back please.

I've run my Panasonic HD projection for hours at a time, and never worry about burn-in.

Back more than a few months ago, I ran the Tokyo Enduro (GT3) back to back and it had no effect. With the amount of screen movement in GT4, it's not something you need to worry about.

One thing of note, is that you have to set the screen to HDTV each time you start (or reset) the game. The 16:9 will stay set, but the HD will always default back to Normal.

what about the speedo and taco etc.

it doesn't move much.

We're talking about many hours, all you have to do is change channels

mmm... tacos.

what about all the numbers at the top though? if, say, for the entire length of a 24h enduro you stay in first place... isn't that "1" going to be burnt in? it never moves or anything.

It's a possibility but just flip channels now and then or put it on standby for a while

For some reason mine doesn't even work. I pluged in all five plugs and the screen jumps arouns like it is between chanels or something. I hope it is the plug because I am going to exchange it. However, it is a brand new TV so it could be that (Hope not).
