GT4 PAL on pc-monitor

hi,

i have searched for hours here and on the german gt board, but i could not come up with too much information on the PAL version's display modes.
from what i have found out, the PAL version displays 576i in the races, but does it only do it in the races or in the menu as well? and what other display modes are there in the PAL version?

as far as i know, there is no monitor which can display 480i, so it is impossible to play the NTSC version via a vga-box on a pc screen.

i'd like to know how that is with the PAL version. can monitors display 576i (or whatever display mode the PAL version has)?
 
have heard now that monitors don't display 576i as well. i wonder who buys all these vga boxes if no monitor can display the usual ps2 signal anyway?!

i am now looking into tv-cards. seems to be cheaper and allows me to watch Tv on my pc as well.

got another question though. what input should the tv-card have? s-video would be the best, wouldn't it?
